What are we looking at? Obviously he's not marshall, comparable to Cam? Will he run or will he primarily stay in the pocket?

He a pocket passer but can run enough to keep the defense honest. Cam was faster than most think. I think most will be disappointed in JJ running only because of NM and Cam.JJ passing will well make up for it. Our RB will have to carry the running load.
JMO.

We're going to have to get used to a whole different style than what weve grown used to. None of the QB's on the team or arriving have the speed we enjoyed the last few years.

Im looking forward to seeing a competition between JJ and Sean White. I think it could be a closer race than most appreciate.

I agree with this

I will correct you a little on this one, Cam was a lot QUICKER than most thought. He could shift like a running back but had the size of a tight end. So most linebackers and DBs couldn't hit him high so they had to sell out to take out his legs and then he shifts and makes them miss. Cam is much quicker than JJ is in open field but top end speed is probably very similar.

I agree with this too except that JJ is the best passer by far of the three for what we have seen so he won't have to run as much to keep a defense on their heels.

I agree with most of what you said, But tell me with a straight face that JJ's top end speed is as fast as this. LINK

I think the most important thing will be to improve pass blocking. NM covered a lot of sins in this area the last two seasons.

Just for good old times sake.

By the way I actually think Jeremy is going to surprise many with his running abilities.

JJ isn't a burner but if you are Mr BBall finalist as a wing player, you are going to be both quick and fast. Maybe not Cammy Cam but he will be a huge second weapon in the run game

The way our offense runs it gives our QBs huge holes to run through, Im thinking he'll be a pretty effective runner if he has a little speed... Also his passing will keep the secondary from cheating up also... Pretty excited about next year...

Go to 0:35, 1:47, and 2:28 for examples of JJ running in an Auburn uniform. He's got good speed and has deceptive quickness and moves. He will get it done on the ground.

Dude just has a good arm and likes to sit back and sling it.

Cam Newton ran a 4.59 40-yd dash at the NFL Combine and Indy has always been known as a notably slow track.

Is it far fetched to think we'll see JJ play similar to Jason Campbell?

That is, primarily a pocket passer...only running on QB sneaks on 3rd and 4th and shorts...

I think he's a better runner than Campbell. I'd compare him more to Randall Cunningham or maybe Dante Culpepper

I see him putting up 500 yards on the ground and wouldn't be surprised to see that number closer to 700

I think Jeremy Johnson's skill set is similar to Jameis Winston...on-the-field, that is.

Primarily pocket passers with elongated release points, albeit not very noticeable. Big players, faster than quick/shifty and very athletic. Guys can that can beat you on the ground when you are unprepared, but guys that would rather remain in the pocket and beat you through the air.

IMO, Jeremy Johnson is a little more athletic than Jameis Winston due to his background in basketball.

Jeremy Johnson won't be Cam Newton but he definitely will be a threat and have some great runs.

Just because he isn't a run first mentality QB doesn't mean he isn't a good runner

I never said he wasn't a good runner (not sure if you mean to make it sound like I did).
