I thought the kid was supposed to be a stand up kinda guy from everything I'd heard and the one time I actually talked to him.

Grasping at straws..but maybe a glimmer of hope?
This is a nonviolent misdemeanor and will be expunged if he completes PTI. Maybe they give him a second chance?

They are not going to let him go anywhere. This will all be forgotten by late July.

It sounds like the kid made a mistake and I'm sure he is remorseful about the situation. I don't think that he's a bad kid and will learn from this mistake and be a better person for it. We act like these kids are suppose to be perfect and not ever do anything wrong. The truth is they are normal kids with athletic ability which gives them a chance to get a free education. If what he did was a little more heinous then I agree we should cut ties and move on.
