What do yall think of Jason Cook? Looks like he is about to get hired as Mizzou's new AD.

I don't know anyone who doesn't think Jason Cook is a rock star.

He's from the marketing and coms side. He just recently switched to AD's office. Please give him some good experience before we call him home to Aggieland and kick Hyman out.

Brilliant marketing guy, would be a big loss for us. He was Loftin's right hand throughout the SEC move. Don't know if he knows anything about hiring coaches and such though.

He is my second favorite person ever employed by A&M in my time.

Good man

Eta: the everyday employees of the university like him a lot and that says something in and of itself

Don't know how he'll be in that position but if the bowtie feels it's right it probably is.

As the others said, he was well liked during his time at A&M.

So he is either higher than Gates or Loftin?

Regardless, have heard only good things

He's extremely capable, he knows his trade as well as anyone, and he's a humble, likable guy.
Mizzou couldn't hire a better egg.
Should he end up in CoMo, I'll wish him nothing but the best there.

Gates. I loved the man, he handed me my degree. But he didn't get to stay to finish his vision (2020), which has to make him second to the men that got us to the SEC and got us set up properly in this league perception wise.

Huge loss for us. But if it's good for him and his family, oh well.

The only issue is actually the most important issue. He's never been in charge of a major hire. I think he'll be able to but he's as unproven as they come.

I believe he was placed in charge of hiring our Athletic Director. At the time he was not in the AD

I could have sworn 2020 started well before Gates was at A&M

Will be missed. He led the committee to select Human as I recall.

Nah.
Vision 2020 was Dr. Gates' initiative.
Lordy, I miss him.

As others have mentioned, you won't find a negative word from Aggies. He has been terrific. Like others I have no idea how he'll do as an AD. AFAIK he's a marketing genius first and foremost. But Loftin had to have had a say in this if it pans out, and to me that's all the assurance you need.

I wish him the best. He deserves it.

I'd be more than fine with this, but he's an MSU alum.
