yeah, he looks promising. Nice fastball and I think that's a splitter he was striking everyone out on. If he can keep throwing that down and locate his fastball, he can really be something

We're looking to be pretty deep squad this year. Surprising because I honestly wasn't expecting it

Just noticed that Dartmouth has yet to play a game this year. They were sub .500 last year playing the 183rd toughest schedule. I think 12-0 is likely.

We will learn a whole lot about how good we are next week with DBU midweek then the College Classic on the weekend. I will take a 12-0 confidence boost going into that

yeah, our schedule this year is pretty weak. Feel like RC did this to generate wins given we've been hovering just below .500 both years so far in the SEC. There's some merit to that, but one of these first few weekend series should have been better.

Think our mid-week games are fine. Southland, CUSA, Sun Belt will always be the staple there. But imo even with the MMC we should have had one decent opponent for a weekend series. And when we add the sips back next year, I hope we don't just slot them in the MMC role. I'd like to see another at least decent weekend series.

I want a home and home with a west coast school. Doesn't have to be Pac, but a decent name like UCI, CSF, UCSB, Cal Poly, etc.

I also wouldn't mind another marquee mid week besides Rice. I'm looking at you, UH, Baylor, TCU.

I actually looked at TCU's schedule for this exact reason. The only midweek games they are playing away are in the metroplex (UTA and DBU). They are acting like a big boy now and probably rightly so.

Given this I don't think we'll get them midweek any time soon because it's 3+ hours each way. Neither school wants to go through that when there are plenty of solid opponents closer. We may make a midweek trip to Houston or Huntsville but not Ft Worth. Our only 2 midweek away games this year are @Sam and @UTSA

Do think adding Baylor or UH home/home is a no-brainer though.

is the texas series back on? i had not heard that before but I also haven't really been paying attention.

I wouldn't mind seeing a sort of SWC Tournament with the whole band back together since most are fairly strong baseball schools (at least currently).

Truthfully, I wouldn't mind seeing that in basketball either.

Also, I too would like to see more play against West coast schools. I would love to see Stanford come to Olsen and I think Aggies would enjoy a trip to Palo Alto.

Just not Cal. They have way too many hippies. The hippies in Austin are fun to feed and pet...sorta like a petting zoo. But the ones in Berkeley are like untamed animals. Those frickers bite back.

dirty Berkeley hippies.
