this early in the process there's always a ton of movement

Conner plays in 2A and doesn't even put up big stats. Knott put up really solid numbers for a 5A Germantown team.

My brother plays with Nigel. I've watched him play over 20 games. I've worked out with him and my brother. He may end up being a SEC caliber player but I've never known of one who is that weak. Snoop Brassell is a beast compared to this kid in the weight room. Fyi, as soon as he gets an Oregon offer, which according to him will be soon, he gone. Will it stick? Depends on if the instate schools go after him that hard but going to Oregon is his "dream"
Edit: also, this kid brings every single offer with him to school. Lays them out on an open desk every day. Maybe that's how most recruits are, regardless, if any instate school wants this kid badly then expect a lot of drama

And Barton admitted it was purely a speculative ranking. Kid is ultra athletic and talented but is nowhere near that rating as a player right now. I understand ranking higher based on upside but put him as a 90 or 91 not a 95. That's taking away from kids that actually are 95 rated prospects.
Barton is just trying to set a standard where he can be ahead of the game if the kid blows up and earns the ranking. If not he can use his comments from now to explain away the misevaluation. They haven't even seen the kid in person. It's a bullshite way to rank kids especially this early. They have an entire year to properly evaluate the kid and give him an earned, legit ranking. Don't insult the fans of the industry with bogus, unearned rankings. It further dumbs down and illegitimizes the ranking process. Just a bad look to be admitted to by the man in charge of the rankings.
