Plenty of people care enough to need a $42 million dollar renovation and expansion of Sewell-Thomas Stadium.

Well Alabama's attendance has been pretty steady the past few years and I've always loved college baseball. I was in Ausin Tx last year and had one of my friends take to see the Houston-Texas series. It was awesome.

Agree that the SEC tourney should be played at Regions Field downtown. Alabama should be playing their home games there too this season but I guess it is too complicated with the Barons playing there too.

Well, the baseball stadium was basically the last sports facility to get renovated. I believe we've had major renovations for men's basketball/gymnastics, women's basketball/volleyball, tennis, rowing, track and field, softball, and football all within the last few years.
The only ones I can think of that haven't had a recent renovation are soccer and swimming and diving.

Soccer has had renovations in the last several years. Baseball had the stigma basketball does now. A lot of money was out into the exisitng facility right before everyone else in the SEC started an arms race (late 1990s for The Joe and 2006 for Coleman). There wasn't a financial argument for updates until it was clear Alabama had fallen behind. That, and Gaspard hasn't had the voice some of the other non-revenue sports had in the AD.
