Tonight the final dagger in Grant's coffin? Or will that be losing at Auburn?

No. There will be no "final dagger." Its just oging to be a slow & painful deathmarch for the rest of the season.

Of course AU taking us to poundtown could certainly do it.

I hope seeing the energy they have over there is making our athletic departments head spin, but I'm not sure it does.

As in, will he be fired after losing tonight? Hell no. Death by a thousand cuts.

No, as in, after tonight nobody on the planet or in the Mal Moore Building will have any inkling of an idea that there is any scenario to help him survive.

Fun fact: The '03-04 team that made the elite 8 started the season 12-10.

With that said, we lose tonight. We lose many more.

Grant had better be gone or I'm going to picket outside the athletic office. who's comin with me?!

Yep - we had a horrible losing streak and then won in Starkville when nobody thought there was any shot we would. That State team went like 24-2 (of course their OOC was awful, and of course they lost early in the tourney). Then we lost the home game to State that was on the other night.

I hate to say it but I could see this team go on a decent little run since the schedule was so top loaded and finish 10-8 or 9-9 in the SEC with a first round W in the SEC tourney to end up around 20-12.
Then get a slight outside chance bubble mention but ultimately a decent NIT seed and then we do it all over again next year.

I think MAYBE if our players stop getting injured this could happen. Doubtful though.

Losing to Auburn, especially if it isn't even close, is unacceptable in every sport.

I'm praying we lose. Never thought I'd have to resort to this but it's the only way for Grant to Gtfo

If Grant survived last year, then theoretically he'd need to do worse this year.
And unfortunately he's doing worst case for us fans: slightly better.
Can't live with him, and apparently can't get the chance to live without him.

Grant should be fired for the last minute of this game alone. Up 8 and you can't get the ball inbounds successfully on 3-4 consecutive tries? Ever heard of an off ball screen?

Alabama has to be historically the worst inbounding team of all time.
A junior high team playing a group of NBA players could get the ball in easier than Bama can.

This is what I'm worried about. He's doing just enough to not get fired.
