Going golfing for the first time since HS

It's been so long since I've actually played a game of golf, and I have to play the next two days with some higher ups in the company I work for. Any good tips?
I'm pretty nervous about it. I had no time to hit the driving range before to prepare either.

Relax and have fun with it

That's probably the best advice I can get.

Just tell them it's been a while and go have fun. I suck at golf but I always have a good time playing, even when playing with ppl who are great golfers. I just let them know I play on average once every 5 years or so and I suck because of it and they usually laugh and make allowances for me

Slow you swing down, and just worry about keeping it in the fairway instead of length.

Expect suck. Be pleasantly surprised when not. Self deprecation is your friend. Bring plenty of balls. And buy cheap ones because they won't make a difference.

Pre-shot routine before each shot

Just don't try to kill it. Swing it soft and you will do much better and not look like a hacker slicing it everywhere.

Have about 2-3 beers and stop, you'll play better.
You're going to suck though. Like 120+ suck.

Let them know it's been a while, keep your head down and don't try to kill it. Most of all have fun and relax, the conversation you make with them will be far more important than playing the game well as far as your job goes.

Swing hard. Grip it and rip it. One whole day of suck can be overcome but out-driving everyone on one hole.
Hit the same irons as everyone else even though there is no way you will get it there. when it comes up short, just say you caught it fat.
Get drunk and cuss after bad shots, maybe even throw a club.
don't forget the foot wedge

Used to play golf with a guy in grad school and this was was MO. Then after, he would brag and ask for his $1.00/hole after claiming victory by his scorecard. It made a good walk extra special spoiled.

Last time I played in a tournament in jc I walked out to the first tee told everyone I was playing with just fwiw I suck.. They all started laughing and agreed they did too and then I proceeded to shoot a 109.. I sucked until I gave up and started just practicing different shots

This. Do whatever you can to stay in the fairway off the tee. 3-Wood, 4 iron, or whatever it takes. The chances that you'll drop some huge number drop dramitically if you aren't in the woods or out of bounds from the start.

Relax and take it easy is the best advice.
I used to get roped into playing in charity tournaments a couple times a year, and the worst thing about playing cold was what it would do to my back. I'd be ok on the front nine, but wear down pretty quick after that. The beer probably didn't help.
