Considering that everyone else has had a weeks worth of games already, not bad for for Mizzou going 4-1 in the opening weekend.

Softball also heads to warmer weather in California.

Thursday 2/19 7:30 vs. Cal State Fullerton
Thursday 2/19 10:00 vs. Long Beach State
Friday 2/20 5:30 vs. Texas
Friday 2/20 7:30 vs. UCLA
Saturday 2/21 4:30 vs. Arizona

Tough games again. Fullerton just fell out of the top 25, so they're a borderline team. UCLA is 12, Arizona is 13 and Texas is 25. Mizzou is currently 18. Winning 3 of 5 would be awesome, but wouldn't be shocked to win 2 of 5.

Finucane pitching the first game against Cal State Fullerton. Mizzou up 7-2 in the 5th.

CF Gadbois
RF Crane
2B Fagan
C Mack
3B Sanchez
LF Fleming
DH Randazzo
1B Roth
SS Genovese

And actually, Finucane quickly gets 1 out and they bring in Baxter to finish out the game and she gives up a hit to the 1st hitter she faces.

Softball shorted a very good Cal State Fullerton 10-2 after 5. Good to shorten Finucane's work load.

Mizzou up 2-0 after 1 1/2. Freshman Lowary in the circle and has struck out 4 of the 6 outs.

And make that 4 #PunchOuts for @PAIGELOWARY as she breezes to a 1-2-3 top of the 2nd. Tigers take 2-0 lead into the bottom of the frame.

btw - In game 1 Finucane gave up 0 earned runs.

Tigers and Longhorns in a battle. Tied 1-1 for most of the game behind another awesome out ing by freshman Lowary. Top of 7, Tigers score 3 to take a 4-1 lead. In the bottom, an error hear, an infield squib basehit there and next thing you know it's 4-3 with 2 outs and bases loaded. EE brought in Finucane to close it out.

Tigers win 4-3 over Texas!!!!

Thank God something is giving me a distraction from basketball.

Good win not just because it's Texas, but they were #25.

UCLA still up tonight. They're #12 or 13 and then Arizona tomorrow who is the other of 12 or 13. Huge win to start this 3 game stretch.

Gotta shore up the defense. 2 of Texas' 3 runs were unearned.

UCLA just took a 2-0 lead on an error. So far today, 5 runs given up but only 1 of them earned.

Beat a highly ranked Arizona team 3-2. Lowary pitched 4 and Finucane 3. Only 1 of the runs earned again. Have got to cut down on the errors.

Said I'd be happy with 3-2 on the weekend. Ladies went 4-1. Pretty damn good weekend for softball.

Of the 17 runs given up, 10 were unearned. That's the one issue that softball has to work on. Otherwise, solid weekend all around.

LINK

Lowary named SEC pitcher of the week. Went 3-0 in 3 days including beating #13 Arizona and #25 Texas, pitching 14.2 innings, striking out 15 and only allowing 3 ER.

I don't know if I should...

but dare I say that Lowary might be better than Finucane. I think she is at least just as good.

Sure seems like her strike out rate is higher. I think EE has more confidence in Finucane still given the years experience. But if comparing freshmen years for both...she's probably at least as good as. The difference is, Lowary has a Finucane who is a top tier pitcher. Finucane had only herself. Lowary is lights out better than Stangel was.

Are the games shown on the Mizzou Network Online because I can never find them on TV?
