So now that recruiting season is over, and every coach is hired sans a buyout, the pieces are in place. I want to know what yall expect to see in Spring and next season from this upcoming team.

The big questions in my mind:

-Where will Chavis's first defense end up?

I looked and his worst defense ever between Tenn and LSU was the 70th. So I feel safe saying top 70, which sadly would be a huge improvement. Personally I feel defensive coaching takes longer to get across because some of it is reteaching instincts and attitude. Since we run the big boy version of a Texas high school offense O talent seems more plug and play, while I expect Chavis's D to struggle some next season. But I expect a huge improvement in 2016, like top 40 D.

Will our offensive line be better as a unit?

I like the new coach, but man its nerve-racking losing the last of the Sherm legacy. I am excited to see what yall think on this one.

What group do you expect to be most improved?

I say WR. I think a few less dropped balls would mean some games, and that seems to be the focus. I liked Beaty but I really feel that that unit will get better coaching quickly. I really really like the unit and the fact these guys are growing with Kyle.

What rookie will contribute early and often?

Just look at my avatar and sig for my answer. I think Mr. WRTS is ready to play college ball. I remember when he decommitted and was looking at LSU someone on here (sorry I don't want to dig) said that his one flaw was that he was pretty much maxed out completely developed. At his ceiling.

And that is exactly what this team needs.

What are we looking to see out of Spring ball?

I want to see someone unexpected on defense step up with better coaching. And I want to see Speedy turn into what he should be- the best WR in America.

And the final question and big burrito:

Does KM redshirt or even go to the MLB?

Can we afford him to do either?

A&M staaaaaaccccckkkkkeeeeeeedddddd

SEC fuuuuuuuuccccccccckkkkkkkkeeeeeeeedddddddd

Seriously though I think we end up between 70 and 80 on D

Oline I need to study on more

I think the defensive front 7 will be most improved

Mack

I want to see the O click and the D show some life

He red shirts and as long as KA stays healthy he gets time to grow and learn the O

None of that I'm pros based on anything but shite I pulled out of the air

This thread will be fun to bump at the end of next season

:

-Where will Chavis's first defense end up?

We have some talent, we aren't world beaters but we aren't void of good skilled athletes.
Somewhere between top 40-60, anywhere in that range and we easily win 9 or more. Really the difference for us between 60 and 40 is how well Bama and Ole miss replenish and grow offensively.

Will our offensive line be better as a unit?

Absolutely, I think the receivers will play better along with Kyle Allen turning into a heisman candidate. When the passing game is great. The lines job is easier.

What group do you expect to be most improved?

I agree 100% wide receivers. I also think the secondary will look like one we haven't had in 15 years. Be prepared for some unnecessary roughness penalties but they are going to play with serious swagger

What rookie will contribute early and often?

Mack truck baby

What are we looking to see out of Spring ball?

RSJ stand out as a clearly dominant receiver, RSJ and Speedy combo will be feared by all opposing secondaries

And the final question and big burrito:

Does KM redshirt or even go to the MLB?

Neither, he wants and will get mop up duty in games once they are in hand. He needs at least a year of college baseball to gain size and experience. He will grade out late first round which will not be enough to make him give up his dream of starting qb for the Aggies. If he sticks around in 2-3 years he may be one of the greatest ever to play at A&M. Who knows for sure? But I want to find out

Can we afford him to do either?

No

Daylon is as college ready of a freshman DT i've seen in a while. I think he will be a stud. I'm interested to see the rest of our DL rotation though. Several guys should be poised for breakout seasons.

I think the d ends up in the 70's- youth, a new system, and our offense make me conservative.

Oline we were spoiled with our bookends the past few years, I think they will open holes better, but I think it's too much to expect them to give the crazy time we are used to.

Most improved group? Can I say safeties? I think between the recruits we got and the experience gained by Watts they have potential to be solid (though young) for us.

Sticking with my safety focus I think Dunning with his length and explosion will make his presence known.

I want to see fire- I want the D flying around and a team nastiness established. At the individual level I want Dae Dae to explode- everyone is high on Daylon but I want his inside push to finish off the DE's pincer.

I think he redshirts if he comes- puts a two year buffer for him and lets him grow some. I do expect him to either do some minor league stuff (didn't Wilson do this?) or play as a fish on our team.

Wildcard question: any Ag from the past to put on the team- who would it be?

I'd like to see all of these new coaches we've added really start to develop the talent sumlin has brought in. I'd like for some of the players such as Quiv Gonzalez & justin manning, guys that haven't lived up to potential for whatever reason, to view these new coaches as a fresh start for them, and for these new coaches to reach some of these talented kids that havent quite figured it out yet.

Von Miller. Would love his leadership getting passed to the new generation.

-Where will Chavis's first defense end up?

We are lacking high end corners and depth overall, particularly at LB. However we have some real talent too. I think we make a huge leap to the 45-60 range.

Will our offensive line be better as a unit?

I say we will run block better however we don't have the elite of the elite talent like we have the last 4-5 years. I say about the same which is pretty damn good, but still leaves room for improvement.

What group do you expect to be most improved?

RB. Not that I think our backs were bad last year. I think they will be utilized better and more often so I think the numbers will be exceptionally better.

What rookie will contribute early and often?

Easy choice for me, Evans. He's going to be a day 1 starter. I think Mack can start right away too. I also think Lockhart will be making a big impact in somewhat limited snaps.

What are we looking to see out of Spring ball?

I want to see Allen progress. He needs to take the next step for us to reach the next level.

And the final question and big burrito:

Does KM redshirt or even go to the MLB?

I think he shirts as long as he doesn't have to play. If Allen is dinged up or plays poorly, then Murray is in.

Gotta be Johnny. Its the most important position in football and he's one of the best at the college level ever.

senior Von that had the fear of Jebus put into him from Sherm or freshman Von that loved to rock and roll all night and party every day?

I think I'd actually rather a guy like Sam Adams or Dat Nguyen. Maybe even a Kevin Smith or Aaron Glenn.

Either you're a lot older than I thought or I'm really impressed you'd come up with that name. Curtis is a year younger than me and made our HS teams in Cleburne look really stupid. Fastest guy I've ever seen on a football field. The combo of him and Big George was a fantastic 1-2 punch.

I think that's low-balling it. We have a pretty damn salty DL now. We have A.J. Hilliard back and I expect him to be dominant. A whole bunch of guys who saw playing time as freshmen are now a year older. I expect no worse than #40.

Hard to say. I like the new coach, too. And Connor Lanfear will be a beast at some point, but him being a star or even a starter in year 1 may be too much to expect.

I agree. I saw a Moorehead interview a few days ago and he specifically mentioned dropped balls (which we saw plenty of) and how that wasn't acceptable. I expect big improvement here. But with a new OL coach and a couple of hotshot RB's coming in, it might be RB.

I don't think there's any question about this, unless it is Kirk returning every damn kick for a TD. Mack is definitely SEC-ready.

I can't see any circumstances under which he'd redshirt. When JFF did we had Tannehill running the show and Showers as a backup. Now? I like Connor McQueen, but that ain't happening. MLB is a big question, though.

This. Plus the attention that Mack will inevitably get should free up a more experienced Myles and make life easier in the trenches for the rest of the guys. Mack & Chavis are the two gems of this offseason.

Johnny Football and Curtis Dickey are great choices. Some Leeland McElroy or Rodney Thomas (whom I knew personally: truly great human being) wouldn't be terrible, either.

Still I'd have to go with Ray Childress. Put him in between Miles and Mack and

EDIT: Now if I could have FOUR Aaron Glenn's then YEAH.
