Head Coaches of Women's Collegiate Teams

A REPORT ON SELECT NCAA DIVISION-I FBS INSTITUTIONS 2014-15

This longitudinal research series, now in its third year, is a partnership between
the Tucker Center for Research on Girls & Women in Sport at the University of
Minnesota—the first research center of its kind in the world—and the Alliance of
Women Coaches, an organization dedicated to increasing the number of women in the
coaching profession.

In the first benchmark report of this longitudinal research series, The Decline of Women
Coaches in Collegiate Athletics: A Report on Select NCAA Division-I FBS Institutions, 2012 -13
(LaVoi, 2013), we detailed the historical decline in the percentage of women head coaches
in the 40+ years following the passage of Title IX...

Now, before anybody flames me, I'm just putting this information out there. I think it'd be interesting to correlate the success rate of programs with more women's coaches than men compared to those with an even mix or even a predominance of male coaches.

To my mind, winning is all that matters. Fortunately for LSU, our women coaches are pretty good!

i've seen a lot of complaints about your women's bball coach- but i have to say it was more to do with success than anything sexist so all in all i gotta say good job lsu.

It's still REALLY weird to me that Geno hasn't tried men's.

It's just creepy actually.

so basically one of the most important qualifications of being an NCAA coach for a womens team is what you have between your legs?
