If you want it to. I always wondered thought that if I could ever ask God why he made life, he'd respond, "why not?"

There might not be a perfect ending. Life is messy. Life is hard. Tragedy is everywhere... but there are some good things too. So why not?

You'd enter into the ultimate nihilist continuous cycle.

Are you having an existential crisis right now or something? What made you ponder this?

Meh. I respect nihilism for somethings but a complete rejection of value, as if value needs to be derived from God's immediate conception of our world is silly. Who says we can't stumble upon value? Iunno. That seems to be the biggest flaw of the thought process... that God has a complete comprehension of the consequences of creation. I'm not sure if that's the case, and sometimes I'd like to believe it isn't. Predestination is boring.

I always haven't made the best decisions in life but I always look forward to the upswings when I'm down to the last chip on the table.

I'm with this guy.

I've long thought that the first line of The Bible should read "In the beginning God was bored." Gotta figure that It spent a lot of time floating around going, "I'm God! I AM GOD! I'm God and I'll always be God and there's no one who can do anything about it!" And then after a few gazillion forevers It was like, "OK. Well since I can do anything I want, I might as well do something."

I don't think life has any meaning at all. It's like an 80 year mushroom trip in the midst of forever. Hugh Hefner is a far better tripper than I.

You told me once you believed in God.
The old man waved his hand. Maybe, he said. I got no reason to think he believes in me. Oh I'd like to see him for a minute if I could.
What would you say to him?
Well, I think I'd just tell him. I'd say: Wait a minute. Wait just one minute before you start in on me. Before you say anything, there's just one thing I'd like to know. And he'll say: what's that? And then I'm goin to ast him: What did you have me in that crapgame down there for anyway? I couldnt put any part of it together.
Suttree smiled. What do you think he'll say?
The ragpicker spat and wiped his mouth. I dont believe he can answer it. I dont believe there is an answer.

I don't.

Say what you will about the tenets of national socialism, but at least it's an ethos!

Sorry, I had to.

God would have to be omnipotent. If he isn't omnipotent he's hardly a god.

No. Meaning can only be assigned to life by those who are capable of defining it. By default, then, it can only be subjective.
