Neither had an in-home, or took an official visit to Tennessee. They will delay enrollment, and not count against the 2015 recruiting class.

Doesn't that take away two scholarships from your next class? There was along thread on this last year, I forgot what blue shirting was.

No, they don't count toward the 25 man limit but they do count towards the 85 when they enroll in the fall.

I believe so, but Jones always says the number to keep an eye on is 85. As long as you're under that, anything is possible.
Disclaimer - I don't purport to be an expert on NCAA recruiting laws.

Honest question, how the heck are these numbers gonna work out?

Ok I got you. I thought there was some weird stipulation to the rule. I'll try to find that thread after today calms down.

Its perfectly legit. Tennessee makes their own rules. The probability of either kid graduating from UT or even playing football is very slim. I am seeing a MTSU and an Arkansas State transfer

Ahhhh, that's right. Since they were never officially "recruited," no in-home, no official visit.
It's essentially like handing a walk on a scholarship.

quote:Yup. Blueshirts are basically preferred (or even recruited) walk-ons who are then given a scholly after enrollment.
