On Jekyll we always stay at the Beachview Club Hotel. Not new, not swanky but a great spot on the beach, kinda small & a great place to relax & unwind. Jekyll is low key & laid back, if that's what you are looking for it's perfect...

Not a lot of foot traffic on the beach, even in the summer, long early morning or late afternoon/evening walks can be as romantic as you make them, you'll find a lotta sand dollars, shells etc. She'll think you are Rico Suave after a coupla days. Dining on Jekyll isn't great but the 30 min drive to Brunswick isn't bad...

I'm prolly in the minority but I love Jekyll...

If you want to go old school romantic, you can't beat the King and Prince Resort on SSI.

Know all about the king and prince, use to sneak into the pool area when me and my buddies vacationed down there, that might be a little too pricy for me

my advice..go to Amelia Island and party at the Green Turtle, Palace, And The Dogstar..doesn't matter where you stay, but there are a lot of beachfront rentals..

oh, and there's a shrimpfest 1st weekend in May there..

SSI is ridiculous expensive imho...I would do Jekyll....there are several new hotels there now...its a short drive to the Restaurants and scene on SSI but not as costly....plus Jekyll can be more laid back and romantic to me...get a little golf cart rental and you can see a lot of beautiful sights...fishing on the pier north side of the island is legit...

I would go to St George Island. Mush nicer beach, better fishing, better oysters.

King and Prince has recently been renovated. It's on the beach of SSI. Village Inn is more quaint and a few blocks off the beach. Has a cool bar where a lot of locals hang out.
