Bruce on being back in Knoxville: "I'm glad that the game was early because there wasn't time to think about it. My time here is history. I'm trying to make new history (at Auburn). It's not as hard for me as you might think it was. They fired me. I gave them cause, but they didn't have to fire me. It's not all hugs and kisses and oohs and aahs."

Looking forward to what Bruce can accomplish at Auburn. Our history is horrible, but we should have decent basketball soon.

He was on the post game...i'll paraphrase --->

Basically said, "we made a lot of great things here (UT), lots of friends, family...BUT, that is HISTORY, im ready to do the same at Auburn. Dont think that all of this is rainbows and roses, the UT admin had a choice to stick with me or fire me and the chose to fire me, i'll never forget that"

So, no I think yall missed your chance.

Why are you so worried about it? He's not coming back no matter what anyone believes.

I think him eventually coming back isn't out of the question. If he keeps his nose clean you never know. The people who felt wronged by him will be gone within five years but the affection will never go away. Either way I hope he keeps on the straight and narrow and is very successful.

I don't know why this is being downvoted. If he could, he would be back at Tennessee tomorrow.

I agree. He's never really hidden the fact that he loves Tennessee and not just the basketball program or university, he loves Knoxville and it's always been plain as day. It's also why our fans responded so well to him -- he was one of us, a Vol and an East, Tennessean and embraced every aspect of that.

When you find a place you love and are forced to leave rather than leave on your own, you tend to carry that torch forever. There's nothing wrong with that either. Great memories were made here.

No offense but him acting like we didn't have to fire him is retarded.

He couldn't coach for THREE YEARS. It would've been program suicide to keep him.

The fact that he actually said that is just sad

I'm sure he alluded to the administration not sticking with him during those 3 years

Who knows
