BTW, why doesn't LSU play in-state schools more?

We had a 10 year or so run where we played at least one of them each year, I think Alleva put a stop to it.
Like someone already said if we're going to throw money at a rent a win I'd rather it be an instate team.

I'm no UT fan, but NO ONE in the SEC can say shite about their OOC scheduling. Especially not Mizzou.
They would of been to more bowls if they followed the Mizzou method of OOC scheduling last few years.

And aren't we playing @ Southern this year in baseball? Why not toss some at McNeese, Nichols, or even ULM, ULL.

I'm with ya and the other poster, when it comes to the once a year super-creampuff (as opposed to the slightly more difficult pastries we all schedule ) I'd much rather keep that money in-state.
Is LSU a system school? What I mean by that is do you have satt campuses? At UT we have several and while we're the flagship technically ALL are UT (UTC is one but there are several). Even though we don't always play fellow UT schools (we rotate a lot) I do wonder if it leads to the mentality of playing in-state schools for the super-puff. ETSU and Austin Peay aren't affiliated for example but again we've played in-state schools as long as I can remember and usually in both sports. I think its great.

Other teams have scheduled tough OOC competition and not gotten near the hype as UT.
It's more of UT's PR truck delivering pablum to the masses.
For example, LSU has played Notre Dame more than any other SEC school, yet there's never a mention of LSU's OOC scheduling.
Tennessee has got to be the most over-rated, over-hyped program in the SEC.

Overrated? We haven't been rated.
As to over-hyped, what can I say - we have a great PR team both in sports and at the university in general. But most importantly we return the most starters after a brutal year AND analysts fell in love with Dobbs and the offense post-Dobbs but some of that is reality based not hype based.
Future is bright for us. You'd have to be blind not to see that.

Folks you can't fake this type of ignorance.
LSU has played Notre Dame 11 times. 3 in bowl games. Meaning LSU has played Notre Dame 8 times as an OOC opponent.
Tennessee has played Notre Dame 8 times, all as an OOC opponent.
LSU=8
Tennessee=8
So, the statement was completely false and one of an epic moron

I'm not mad at all, I just get tired of the UT hype machine. The funny thing is that it's all built off Alabama. Without Alabama, no on=e would even know who Tennessee was.
LSU was playing Notre Dame, Nebraska and USC in the regular season in the 70s before UT, and USC, FSU, Miami, Notre Dame and tOSU in the 80's.
LSU has more wins vs Texas, USC, FSU, Miami and Notre Dame than UT does.
Oh but TENNESSEE schedules tough OOC.

You mean when you were playing FSU and Miami before they became powers?
You last played FSU in 1991 and are 2-7 against them.
You've only faced Miami twice since since 1969. You lost one of those games, and the other was in a bowl, not as an OOC opponent.
Sounds like you're the one trying to overhype

Regular season games:
You're trying to make an argument that UT schedules touger OOC than LSU? You'll have to do better than that.
That is a true statement. LSU has played Notre Dame a total of 11 times and has won 5 - more than any other SEC team. I didn't specify OOC in that statement. LSU first played in South Bend in 1970 and lost to #1 ND 0-3. The next year the Tigers cleaned their clock in Baton Rouge 28-8. UT wouldn't play in South Bend until 1978.
A little misleading, but not "completely false".
Again, if you're trying to make a case that UT schedules tougher OOC competition than LSU, you'll have to do better than both having 8 OOC games against ND, because that kind of looks like they're at least equal.

You're stating it as an argument for your strong OOC schedule. Yes, it's completely false.
Tennessee has beaten Notre Dame 4 times in OOC regular season play.
LSU has beaten Notre Dame 3 times in OOC regular season play.
Thanks for playing. Now pack up your ninja turtles and head on home
