Assuming programs live up to their historical levels.
Tier 1. Florida and Kentucky as the national elite...perennial top 10 teams.
Tier 2. Arkansas, LSU, Mizzou as perennial top 25 programs.
Tier 3. Tennessee, Vanderbilt making the NCAA tournament often.
Tier 4. Alabama and Auburn making the NCAA tournament every few years.
Tier 5. Texas A&M, Georgia, South Carolina, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss capable of putting together a team every now and then to contend for the top of the league.
Hypothetically if every program could live up to what it has in the past, this would be a solid if not great league.

Jesus Anthony Grant we are now getting lumped in with Auburn as a basketball program. Best reason to fire his arse I have seen yet, and that's saying something

Mizzou isn't on the same level as arkansas and LSU. Put alabama there on the "potential" meter

Tennessee could easily be Tier 2

Could. Pearl put them there. They've been on a decline and they were abysmal with Buzz

Tennessee has out performed every single one of these teams the last decade and I wouldn't be surprised if that goes back to the turn of the century.
Mizz being the only team listed with a shot at being equal or better. I'm on mobile and to lazy to spot check this.

Yeah I considered Tennessee for tier 2 but had to draw the line somewhere. I guess you could add them to tier 2 and move everyone else below them up 1 tier and just have 4 tiers

Tennessee hasn't sniffed the final 4 as a program. LSU has been 4 times. Also have 3 of the NBAs greatest 50 in Pettit, O'Neal, and Maravich

Your "potential" hasn't been better than UTs for a long time, homie.

Tennessee was something like 30 seconds from the Final Four a few years ago

You do realize both these schools have been to Final Fours, right?

Arkansas is in Tier 1 but the rest looks ok.
