The upshot for the Vols is that Botch will leave the cupboard full for the next coach.

That is of course if they can get their ducks in a row financially so they can hire a legit coach.

Point of order: General Neyland was off fighting our enemies during WWII and winning some of the highest military awards in the process during that period (he would also be knighted by the Queen for his service). We didn't field a team during the war years -- most of the jerseys we retired were those who died fighting NAZIs/the NAZI regime. FWIW, you should know our military history which is unparalleled outside the Academies.

Finally, the reason we called ourselves Team 118 (not Team 119) is out of respect for our soldiers. We didn't field teams then.

Hell our fricking name comes from our military tradition and the number who Volunteered to fight for Gen. Jackson.

I don't get it. Dude has put together huge recruiting classes but hasn't performed on the field at all and yet you guys seem to be quite happy with him 2013 Record: 5 wins; 7 losses. SEC record: 2 and 6 2014 Record: 7 wins; 6 losses. SEC record: 3 and 5

Surely you're not this ignorant to the situation. This is a poor attempt at a troll, right?

Question: When was the last time UT beat Auburn? It's been at least 6 games in a row

Are you talking about Fulmer's two SEC titles? Hitler was in power the last time Tennessee dominated this conference.

Tennessee lost 3 games in the SEC from 94-98. I'd say that's pretty dominant

I must have reallyyyyyy pissed someone off with all the weird arse downvotes in multiple threads. You can tell a true level of hate when you say nothing offensive even to rivals and still get them.

I, for one, take this as a positive. Tennessee be on thay way or at least someone fears so.

You seem sincere, so I'll just point out that if LSU were in UT's position, they'd be ecstatic at the steady, if slow, improvement the Vols have had under Butch. (Well, lots of them, anyway -- I've read Tiger Rant and know that a sizable portion would be enraged no matter what.) Their recruiting has been excellent, especially for what they needed, which was rebuilding the depth of certain positions, and the offense and defense have both shown improved cohesion and execution over time. The Vol fans weren't expecting a magical rise to the top of the CFB world in two years after spending 5 of 6 years under .500. Their happiness is pretty much like any rational person's happiness -- a combination of realistic expectations and signs of improvement.

Part of our happiness is bc whether it was deserved or not, most of us haven't been happy or felt like the program was really
Headed in the right direction since about 4 weeks into the 2005 season. After 2005 we all just knew Fulmer wasn't gonna bring another conference champ (even though he came close in 07) and the years after Fulmer need no explanation

It's been a long, long 10 years for us and we re like a person starving of thirst, any drop of water is the most glorious one ve ever drank

Did you just liken us (UT fans) to some sort of rational beings with realistic expectations? If so, this has to be some sort of trollception.

Our program was on the verge of becoming completely irrelevant for years to come after the 2012 season. The culture in the locker room was abysmal. Vols were on the verge of missing the APR minimum, which would have destroyed the program even further. Hardly any talent and no depth.

Butch took over a miserable roster built by Dooley. Dooley didn't sign ONE offensive lineman in 2012, which is why our best OL this year was a walk on with a torn ACL.

Yes, Butch's record at UT is 12-13, but that is damn good considering where we were 2 years ago. Going into 2013, I was expecting 2-3 wins tops.

Also, we got better in 2014 after losing 5 OL to the NFL and having to rely on 25 true freshman to play key roles. You wouldn't understand unless you've been paying attention. Butch is working a miracle at UT right now. Just don't be so simple-minded and do some research.

The Vols are going the right direction. LSU, not so much. You can wave at them as they pass you on your way down.
