Why is Alabama listed as University of Alabama system? Found that odd.

Because the endowment includes UAB and UAH?

Because Alabama pools its endowment among member campuses.

That makes sense. Wonder why it doesn't have Auburn that way, with AUM.
Also, according to this, AU's endowment is $1.5B
LINK
Not that it matters, but odd there is such a huge disparity

Endowment aside, LSU is ranked 35th for public universities in mid-career salaries, ahead of schools like Ohio State and UNC
We offer great paying jobs in high demand fields at a great price, so future students focusing solely on endowment are short-sided in their choice.
I do know LSU is going to be starting a campaign in the near future to raise its endowment, so hopefully we make our way into the billion mark soon

3 Reasons A&M is so high:
1. Oil money
2. They have huge enrollment figures across the A&M system. See below: 138,000 students currently enrolled.
3. They are a cult. Like most cults, they brainwash their members into giving crazy amounts of their own assets to said cult.
I don't care how big their endowment is, it doesn't make them not a bunch of weirdos.

Good question, I'm not sure. I feel like endowment numbers are really unclear and all over the place between school and system.

That means you have 138.000 students currently enrolled in A&M.
That's a shite ton.
And you're a weird brainwashing cult.
And you're in an oil rich state.
Easy to see what caused the endowment.

It has been a couple of year since the SEC expansion. Doesn't it get tiring talking down to us all the time?

Good planning by our previous leaders. All the oil money in the world isn't worth a damn if it is squandered. This is one thing we can thank Texas for.

Didn't we just have one of these threads?
Yes, but we have gotten a lot richer since then. Essentially A&M's Endowment grows at the pace of a Mississippi school's entire endowment every 3 months or so at the rate of about $6.7 million PER DAY. We grew by the size of UF's Endowment in less than 8 months. The numbers really are staggering.

Yeah. A permanent fund that's existed for over a hundred years tied to a bunch of oil royalties in West Texas. Complete luck. Without it we'd be in the $2.5 billion range.
Posted on 1/29/15 at 4:46 pm to TheCaterpillar
Number 2 has nothing to do with it. Just the main campus is $11billion.

So the mississippi schools are doing a whole lot more with less? And you cant compete with your overpaid head coach and future overpaid DC?
And we have the smallest population of the SEC states. If we had one major University instead of 2 then our endowment would be over 1 billion, right there around UK, Tenn, and Bama.
We should combine forces and wreck shite
