Al.com had a nice summary of some of the people competing for qb next year. Was curious as to some of the thoughts on projected starters.
LINK

quote:

Arkansas -

2014 starter: Brandon Allen

2015 projected starter: Allen

Number of QB starts on roster: 25

quote:

Allen is the most experienced quarterback in the SEC, with a conference-high 25 starts under his belt. But the rising senior is just 10-16 as the Razorbacks' starter.

quote:

Ole Miss -

2014 starter: Bo Wallace

2015 projected starter: Ryan Buchanan/DeVante Kincade

Number of QB starts on roster: 0

quote:

Rising sophomores Buchanan and Kincade will battle for the opening left by the departure of three-year starter Wallace. Buchanan played in all 13 of the Rebels' games during the 2014 season. He completed 12 of 22 passes (54.5 percent) for 75 yards, one interception and no touchdowns.

quote:

LSU -

2014 starter: Anthony Jennings

2015 projected starter: Brandon Harris

quote:

South Carolina -

quote:

Not only do the Gamecocks not return a quarterback that has started in a collegiate game, but the trio that will battle to succeed Thompson has combined to throw just eight passes

Yeah. He said that "we are gonna try this together."

"Insiders" say that his football IQ is off the charts. That he looks amazing in practice. But who knows.

When you look at the teams that made the playoffs this year, it seems clear the SEC was lacking in the elite qb area and that showed up.

I thought Treon Harris did pretty well also, does he just not fit the new system?

UF has the best chance to shock the conference offense wise next year.

We have two of the top performing "Elite 11" QB's from the 2012 & 2013 "Elite 11" camps in Bryce Ramsey & Jacob Park vying for the top spot at UGA. Could be worse...

And Jacob Eason coming in. Lord. How many QB's does UGA need?

Yeah, I feel pretty good about our QB situation. Based on talent alone, we aren't close to 11th in the conference. Fully expect the deep threat to be back next year. Based on experience, 11th is probably about right. Ramsey looked fine to me in limited playing time. Shaky in the Louisville game, but he was unexpectedly thrust into action half blind against a pretty salty D. All without his OC/position coach on the sideline.

"Insiders" also tend to be some of the biggest homers.
