This guy is worse than Rick Stansbury. Casual fans think he is a good coach, but in reality, his teams underachieve and haven't really accomplished anything.

Stallings has 6 NCAAT appearances in 16 years (they aren't going this year) and has an SEC overall record of 120-132. That's bad, especially considering how bad the SEC has been in basketball the last several years.

Honestly, who will Vandy get that is any better? Vandy is going to be a solid team next year.

Stansbury never made it past the second round of the NCAA tournament, even with an all-american on the team and all the talent he recruited. So no. He's not worse than Stans

I cannot believe he has already been there 16 years.

Yes, they won a baseball national championship because they don't care. SMH.

Most Vandy fans that I know are ready for a change. He had a good 9-10 years of consistently being in either the NCAAT or NIT with mixed results. A few early exits and a couple of Sweet Sixteens. Times were good (relatively), and if not for those times, he would probably be gone.

I thought he really underachieved with that Jenkings, Taylor, Ezeli bunch in 2011-2012. While they beat eventual national champion Kentucky for the SEC tournament title, they were only a 5 seed in the NCAAT and lost in the second round to Wisconsin. I haven't thought much of Stallings since. Early departures haven't helped his cause either.

We seem to have some good pieces moving forward, but, sadly, Stallings has already reached his peak.

Don't say that around most other State fans. Many of them think he is John Wooden Part Deux.

No way on Earth. Stallings may be on borrowed time, but he has two Sweet 16s and and an SEC Tournament title. Stans had those cute little boys of his butting into huddles in timeouts.

He almost got canned in 2003,but then Vanderbilt made the Regionals in '04.

It is time for him to make a run again.

Vandy is in a tough spot. He will get another year and then next year might get to the NCAAt and then you are stuck with him for a few more years.

People have grown tired of him here, but Vandy is not quick to pull the trigger on a coach. Vandy should make a move. I don't think they will ever be able to compete consistently in football, but they have the capability to have great basketball and baseball programs.

That's almost half the appearances they've had in their history.

The group Stallings has right now is going to be very solid in a couple years as well.

He's been the coach for more than half of the years since the tourney was expanded to 64 teams. I would hope so.
