So this app, Waze (I use it) is great. It alerts me when a speed trap is present ahead, so I can slow down and not pay my extortion tax, or get whatever hard currency I might be carrying confiscated for no reason.

Police doin' their thang

But Los Angeles's Police chief is saying that because the good kid who never hurt nobody and was about to turn his life around in NYC who allegedly killed 2 police officers had the Waze app on his phone, (which he threw away 2 hours prior) then we need to remove the feature. Because then people know where police are and stuff.

Thoughts?

It's why cities HATE apps like uber and lyft. They lose out on so much money made from DUIs and accidents.

Waze is awesome. frick any statist that thinks we shouldn't be able to discuss where police are. It's in no way a crime.

They shut down lyft in Houston. I loved lyft, it was a great way for part time drivers to earn money picking up people from hot sports from bars and taking them home. They were always extremely faster getting to me than the cab services. Because they were rated individually and tipped they were a lot more polite. You can even use the service to always have the same person if they are on the clock. Great capitalist clever start up. Then it got over regulated by the state to force them out since most drivers were part time.

Does the location run constantly when you have it or what? That runs down your battery big time, but I just downloaded it...

Waze is a great app that has saved me from probably getting a ticket several times. I don't view the ability to report police locations on the app any differently than when someone would flash their lights to alert you to cops ahead.

Still not proficient with Waze yet. Little cumbersome to use honestly. Hard to mark cops in morning traffic. Lol.
