Found this pennant at my grandmothers house. She does not know where it came from nor does my mother ('68 grad). My grandfather graduated from Auburn in the 30s and I assume he picked it up but will never know as he passed years back. Would love to know when this was made if any of yall are familiar with it.

Not familiar, but that's really fricking old if its even actually for us. I've never seen that before. Confederate guy almost looks drawn on paper and glued to it.

And why the heck would it be black and gold like USM colors...

I had that thought as well. Just looks suspect because the Mississippi looks so nice and then we have a goofy bow-legged frick with a retarded face sitting next to it.

Yeah. That confederate guy was cut out on paper and colored with a marker.

Eh. It could be. If it is, it's old as dirt. I'd hang onto it too.

Rebels wasn't our mascot until like 1937, so probably about that old. Might be one of the first pennants to use the term. Despite the obvious bad connotation of the confederate soldier, that's a cool pennant.

That's kind of what I was thinking. Wish my grandmother knew where it came from.
Have a program from '49 that shows more familiar Colonel.

Now that's awesome. The commodore looks like he should be one of the seven dwarves.

That is one I have not seen before. Pretty cool. Is there a University historian? David Sansing, maybe?

Could be from the 40's or 50's. Looks very similar to pennants from that era.

That is terrible. You need to go put that on ebay for $250 now. Old Ole Miss pennant sell for a lot there. I got a '62-63 for about $60 (went undefeated and lost to Texas but still really cool).

Here is a vintage Colonel Reb figurine that I estimate is from the same era. Anybody ever seen anything like this before?
