I actually knew the caffeine one. Couple of guys I used to hoop with always had some sort of caffeinated beverage before our games.

My wife would hate this. She always gets pissed when I shoot down a misconception.

You won't catch a cold from staying outside too long in the winter (or in the rain). People get sick more often in the winter months because they spend far more time indoors in close proximity to each other. Combine that with the fact that large family/friend gatherings usually occur at Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years and you get optimal conditions for disease spread.

Another illustration of why you don't believe everything you read/hear even if it's "science" because scientists are wrong sometimes too, some unintentionally or some on purpose. We are constantly being fed lies from multiple sources - government, scientists, the media, corporations, "religion." I laugh everytime a huge religious debate pops up on the boards because neither side can provide real proof. One side always claims they can but if the proof of either side of the debate really existed, there would no longer be a debate

Yea science may show some of it to be different in the future. Then show it to be different again, etc.
