Ok, I rescind my earlier statement, this is, in fact, my favorite part of Missouri!

Dawt Mill. I went to Jeff Hafer's brother wedding reception there. Place is beautiful and it is very secluded. It' s on the Northfork River about 20 miles west of West Plains, Mo. No pic's sorry

Highway 36 also known as "The Way of American Genius". Walter Cronkite, J.C. Penney, General John J. "Black Jack" Pershing (WWI), Walt Disney and Mark Twain. As well as innovations like the Pony Express, sliced bread and osteopathic medicine. This is yankee country, but it's part of us.

Want to see early Marceline, MO from about 1900? Go to Main Street in Disneyland/Disney World.

There are several things I really like about Missouri. The really good wineries, fascinating caves, Branson, having four seasons, beautiful fall scenery, Cardinal baseball, the arch in St. Louis, my friends in the Boone County Fire dept. and best of all Missouri is now SEC country.

having four seasons,

True. I keep saying I want one good snowfall this season. I'm in Joplin... Only a lil over 4weeks left. Good I mean 5-6 inches. Don't like the 12inches.lol.

really good wineries

Agree....I would say that I was pleasantly surprised with some of the wines I've tasted....not a wine expert by any means.

Nevermind....this is the OT and we're all experts so the wine has a perfect blend of fruity stuff goin' on with no bitter after taste and just a hint of something else goin' on.

Missouri has some really nice parks set around Civil War battlefields. Missouri had the 3rd most civil war battles in the USofA.

Most of the state south of US 50Hwy which basicall runs from St. Lou to Jeff City onto south KC is pretty nice....

cokebottleag Augusta in the fall. Best damn area in the midwest.

My thoughts exactly. The drive from Defiance into Augusta, cross the Missouri at Washington, then on to Hermann is gorgeous country.

I'm from Washington and used to work at Montelle Winery in Augusta. Best commute ever.
