I think people are talking about the sense of entitlement Bama fans have when it comes to the football program. It seems that most Bama fans I meet honestly believe they are better than me because of the success of the football program
RB10, you make a great point, and you have convinced me. I now realize that being better than you is not related to the success of Alabama's football program, and there are many other more profound reasons.
Thanks!

Call Bama fans arrogant and I'll agree with you. But, when Bama fans project a future for our football program much like the recent history has been don't call us delusional. It is not unrealistic to think that Coach Saban won't be fielding a damn strong team that competes for championships. It's not unrealistic to think that he won't continue to bring in the top talent in the country. It's not false to think that he won't have a staff that can train and develope that talent and instill a winning mentality
You do realize the OP never even mentions the football program, right?
He's talking about the fanbase as a whole. The way some Bama fans believe their stature in life is somehow tied to the success of the football program is the very definition of delusion.

"some Bama fans" + "fanbase as a whole" = does not compute.

Entitlement and arrogance is a totally different concept than delusion.

I don't know. Which fan base has convinced itself that Steele is an upgrade to Chavis?
Yea, probably that one.

You're going to use this lame shite because I didn't want to paint all Bama fans with a broad brush?
Bama fans, as a whole, are more delusional when it comes to relating their stature in life to the success of the Alabama football program.

Many people on here have such a narrow worldview that they take the things said on the internet way to seriously.
Get out and meet some other fans. Either when they visit your school or by going to a road game. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

I think you're just mad that not everyone loves Alabama
I could not care less who loves or hates Bama. I just don't think what people are trying to convey in this thread meets the definition of delusional. To me thinking Bama has a good chance to win the SEC and possibly a national title almost every year is far from delusional when almost every year Bama is squarely in the mix. What is delusional is every year actually thinking the refs are the main reason Bama beat your team again.

Which fanbase is convinced Chavis will turn their defense from last to top half in the conference?

Last Season: Texas A&M
This Season: Arkansas
Next Season Guess: Tennessee
A&M was bad last year with their delusion that they would not miss a beat without Manziel, in fact, that they would be better and more well rounded.
Arkansas this year is some serious delusion.
Tennessee's incredible recruiting and positive bowl finish will set expectations high.

1. Vols- Doesn't want to accept that the program is dead
2. LSU- Doesn't want to accept the decline
3. Bama- Thinks they could beat the Jags

Something you read online maybe. I have never heard of this phenomena of thinking you are better than someone else because of a sports team you root for

and just why is that- we're happy we're improved and expect to improve more? omg the horror!
there was a thread started by an aggie last week where he projected us to win the west- the majority of our fans will just be happy winning a few more games than last season. again the horror!
you're just still upset over 30-0 which i don't blame you. started the season looking so good and then shat shat and shat again.
