1) First time at State in 2012 an older gentleman and a bulldog comes up to me and commences to tell me that when he was a student there in 1955 every male freshman and sophomore still had to take ROTC.
2) State were the Farmers, then the Aggies, then the Maroons. God knows they couldn't stay the Farmers nor the Aggies (their superiors in either regard resided a few hundred miles westward [across the breadth of Louisiana {ergo not much}]), but how their student body decided to-- in 196X-- become The Bulldogs when they were in a conference with THE Bulldogs!
makes NO sense.
3) William Faulkner rocked arse. Booing everyone and everything is the quintessence of laziness.

About 15 years ago I met a young man who was juggling Ole Miss vs. LSU. I recommended Ole Miss due to this!
I'd no idea his current girlfriend was back from the restroom and listening.
