The apartments next to the baseball complex off of Wellborn and Holleman are pretty hooded out as well. They should be next in line for demolition.

Well there you go. I was washing my car there once and a guy came and asked me for some money to catch the bus (he was drunk). I say sure which route are you taking? He says..."the one to Bryan". I then say... "Oh ok route (whatever, made it up)". He then says "yeah thats the one". He points to the aggie express transit bus and Im like mannn get your drunk ghetto arse out of here the bus is free. He politely walked away and called me a uptight n****.

You need to go check out the Southgate Apartments and that whole area around the Lincoln Center.

I've been there. Hell, when I felt like playing some good hood court basketball, I used to go to the court there and play pickup games. Rec ball was pussy ball compared to the games played there. Dat ghetto ball.

But again, that area doesn't have a nice view of campus like those little apartments at the corner of G.B. and Wellborn had. It was like a little piece of ghetto heaven right next to, and in view of, campus. R.I.P. ghetto apartments.

I lived in the duplexes near Holleman & Wellborn 98-99.

Fun little mix of cultures. When I leased, the property manager said there was nothing to worry about as long as I didnt have a wife who'd be home alone during the day.

Never heard any gunshots or got woken up by cars bassing in the early morning, never got followed or felt endangered, so it wasn't very thoed by my standards.

Pretty sure I painted a tailor home there for big event.

The kids there were great. However one did walk over to my buddy's truck, look through the window, point, and say "You see that ipod? That's mine!". My buddy then made sure his truck was locked.

I'm gonna have to check it out. I usually go down the street to El Vale instead.

My favorite memory of that place isnt even the tacos, its the shite that went down at times . I was there once in the wee hour of the night my senior year, and we kept ordering tacos right before closing time and being mildly loud (after a night of NG). After a while, this big older Mexican guy came out of the kitchen with a pissed off look and a butcher knife in his hand. He stood there for 5 seconds looking at us, pointed the huge knife at us and told the cashier "Diganle aquellos pendejos si van a querer mas tacos porque ya me quiero ir a la chingada!"

Needless to say, our non-spanish speaking friends got for pretty frightened. The ones that understood lol'd and then the butcher laughed as well because he knew he had just scared half of our table.

Overall, pretty good food. Its family run, so don't think about hitting on the señorita waitresses because I think 2 of them are the butcher's daughters........unless you're brave enough

If this goes anything like the Wellborn/2818 highway exchange, you'll be gone from College Station way before its even finished.

Oh I know. Half of A&M is under construction / expansion and it'll all be done way after I'm gone. (the rec center is of particular annoyance)

Campus really started its modern era of heavy construction/expansion when I was a freshman (specifically remember Dr. Gates mentioning the fact), and really hasn't slowed down since, tbh.

I remember him saying stuff like that in 06, which I was pleased with it since the first building I had ever walked into my first time at A&M was Blocker.

But now seeing the non stop change makes me sad. I mean, G.Rollie is gone for fricks sake. The grassy knoll is now a liberal arts building. . I used to sun bathe there my freshman year (not that I needed it )

frick what they say...change is not good.
