Feel good about a Cock win but Blair will bring a game team into Colonial and probably fired up after that close loss to Georgia.

Cocks
vs Texas A&M, looking like a win
vs Alabama should be a win
@ Ole Miss, win expected but Rebs are putting it together and it is in Oxford
@ Georgia, possible struggle as Dawgs are solid and probably beat Vols @ Knoxville if not for high foul disparity
@ Uconn

Huskies
vs East Carolina = W
@ Temple = W
vs Cincinnati = W
@ Memphis = W
vs South Carolina

That that UConn has anything to prove but I certainly hope the "our team has been tested by an SEC schedule + Duke" holds true when UConn has a conference schedule like that.

Although I know they did play @Stanford early on and I'm sure had some other solid games.

Schedules are not gonna matter when the time comes ... it is, after all, UConn.

We just cannot get caught looking ahead to the Huskies. We gotta stay focused and keep applying the pressure. Then, if anything, we can relax a little heading into the game around the 6th ... for maybe 24 hrs.

Anybody know if they have posted the refs yet for that game?

Win for the Cocks would be huge but at least 2 SEC games prior to that will need to be overcome first. Georgia and Ole Miss are real threats if they come out hot I feel pretty good against Bama unless they play their game of the season.

Cocks
vs Texas A&M, looking like a win It was easy down the stretch. We had too much talent inside the paint for them, and dominated scoring there
vs Alabama should be a win Should be a route: we scored 102 against the Tide earlier this season, and that game was on their court. Tomorrow will be in Columbia
@ Ole Miss, win expected but Rebs are putting it together and it is in Oxford The Rebs have played nobody out of conference: they came into the SEC slate 10-3 on the season, and have gone 4-3 against conf. rivals. They play @ LSU tomorrow, and it wouldn't surprise me if they host USC with a 4-4 SEC record
@ Georgia, possible struggle as Dawgs are solid and probably beat Vols @ Knoxville if not for high foul disparity This has been a tightly contested game every year mostly regardless of whether UGA has been good or USC has been good. I expect it to be another barn-burner, but UGA ain't played a USC team like this one in a long long while
@ Uconn

Huskies
vs East Carolina = W

vs South Carolina

I also forgot that UGA lost their leading scorer for the season to a bad injury. Hope she recovers soon, but that could be a sizable blow to UGA's chances. We'll see...

It is not a question if Ole Miss is great, it is a question if they can play well enough for 1 game to beat the Cocks. Here are the things to keep in mind...

#1 Ole Miss was picked to finish last in conference this season, right now they are sitting in the top half of the SEC in conference play.

#2 Ole Miss is coached by Matt Insell who is the son of Rick Insell who has been making MTSU a top program with for ages. Blue Raiders had the #1 or #2 pick in the WNBA draft a few years ago. They are off the media radar but plenty of top teams have been upset by them in the past. As for Matt himself, he has a pretty impressive WBB education.

a) MTSU grad while his dad was coaching there
b) UT grad that worked under Pat Summit
c) Several years of AAU coaching of top AAU programs
d) Worked at La Tech as director of basketball operations : FWIW, La Tech was a power for the young folks on this board
e) Assistant Coach @ Kentucky under Matthew Mitchell and help them get to 3 Elite Eights in 5 years
f) Head Coach @ Ole Miss

#3 Non conference loses
a) Middle Tennessee State by 6 points to his dad
b) @ Western Kentucky at Diddle, and it is not like the Hilltoppers have bad basketball. I have been to Diddle and home folks make some noise.
c) #3 Baylor

#4 SEC home record (3-1)
W Arkansas, beat Hogs by 14 points
W Alabama, beat Tide by 14 points
W Georgia, beat UGA by 3 points
L Mississippi State, lost by 2 points

#5 SEC road record (1-2)
L Kentucky, lost by 6 points
W Florida, won by 7 points
L Texas A&M, lost by 9 points

I have been around both Matt and his dad for quite some time. The game is at Ole Miss so it could be a blowout but it would also not surprise me if he pulled the upset.

Yeah that's rough to have to go into Athens against a good squad on the eve of the biggest game in program history.

I watched UGA today and they stayed with UK's running game the whole way. Did not look tired at all. They are a good team flying under the radar of the east right now. Should get a NCAA bid and they will upset somebody then.

It's a trap game for us, no doubt.

At least the commentators for the game tonight were saying it would be a shame if they did not let the teams run (should favor Cocks) so they already know it could be a whistlefest since the game is at Uconn and their favorite ref will be calling the game.

They should not let Kanter ref a game that Uconn or Baylor are playing in.

The Uconn tards are already commenting on the ESPN conversation of the USC @ UGA game

Well Im a UConn fan and I don't see SC coming within 20 pts of UConn. UConn can hold SC under 60 and SC cant hold UConn under 70. In big games UConn averages 82 and SC 66. I don't see SC scoring 66 against UConns defense. There are good teams and SC is one of them but then there is UConn and that's a whole different subject. I expect SC to have 18+ turnovers and not be able to deal with UConns quickness. If UConn comes out hot this game could be over in the first half. No disrespect and Im not being arrogant I speak the truth. UConn beats almost everybody every year by 20+ Last Years NC is just a reminder of what UConn is capable of doing to teams.

Would love to see Dawn whip Geno's arrogant arse!

It's so annoying how they flock to EVERY SC thread and talk about UCONN. NOBODY CARES ABOUT UCONN, especially not on a SC vs. UGA thread.

There's a SC vs. UCONN thread for a reason. Talk your trash there where it belongs.

The only reason I want to beat UCONN is not because it's UCONN but because maybe, just maybe, it'll shut their arrogant arse fans up.
