Yale has 18 recognized football championships and they are not even close.... to Princeton.

Facts show that Alabama has owned lsu all time when they play basketball against each other.

LSU doesn't base the success of its basketball program on the head-to-head series with a program with no final fours and no great players that anybody remembers.

Sorry.

Gophers were the first team to 3 peat in CFB a record held for what 50 - 75 years?

Gophers had the old Tulane coach who turned down the Rose Bowl invite in the 1920's that the Tide went to in their place. If Tulane had gone, and won, we might all be following Tulane football today.

I'd rather own my rival on the court, win more sec championships and tournaments combined than my rival, win a whole lot more conference games than my rival, than go to the same amount of ncaa tournaments as my rival, get owned by my rival, and make 4 final 4s

Why am I not surprises a Gumpoholic has nothing to do after the first week of January but manufacture BS to make themselves feel good during another miserable offseason?

I am starting to really believe what my Auburn friend told me..."Camback" to them to the edge...and "Kick 6" may have psychologically ruined most of the fan base forever. l

Dude.... just put in some VHS of "the Bears" final game and relax.

Conference titles mean dick in basketball.

Alabama beat Arkansas in 1994. Arkansas won the national title. Which would you had preferred?

LSU is not your rival, but I understand the obsession.

If you can find one person outside outside of Bama fans that agree with you, I might reconsider.

So you are saying you would rather Bama won every SEC title but never won a single national championship?

Look UK dominated the SEC in basketball for so long that they ceased to play it from 1952 to 1979 (over a quarter of a century) and yet UK still went to Final Fours and won 8 NC's in the NCAA tourney. Imagine 25 years of SEC tournaments padding Rupp's all time record had the games been played. Leave it to the ACC to make a big deal about all time wins because of the padding but Rupp is still well ahead of most everybody (I think Bee had the highest winning percentage) and UK fans still care about NCAA hardware over SEC hardware.

I still want a legit explanation as to why lsu is better in the big 3.

Bama has more combined national titles, sec titles than lsu in the 3. More sec titles in 2 of 3 and only 1 less in the other.
Dominated the all time series in all 3 sports...

Bama > Lsu in the big 3 sports > the rest of the sec

Correct. They are 11th in winning percentage and 12th in victories. They've also moved up that list considerably in the past 15 years. Should that trend continue, they will likely be in the top ten within 5 years.

Who in the top 10 will they replace? Also, is LSU necessarily a better all time program than any of the Florida schools?

LSU is the only school with 10+ SEC championships in the 3 sports.
Also, Bama can be no higher than 5th in basketball. LSU is ahead of them, due to more conference titles, and better tournament results, and are 4th behind UK, UF, and Arkansas.

Basketball discussion

Lsu doesn't have more sec championships brah... Lsu has 12 bama has 14.

What's the point of sec tournament if it doesn't count for anything? Don't bother give me a bullshite reason.

Bama has 14 combined sec regular season titles and sec tournament titles
Lsu has 12 combined sec regular season titles and sec tournament titles

If the sec season is all that matters and sec tournament doesn't mean anything... Bama easily has better regular season and sec season records

Lsu wasn't even close to winning in any of their final 4 basketball games. Heck in 1953 they got blown out in final 4 game and consolation game.

In most recent final 4 ucla dominated that game.

Conference tournaments in big conferences, only matter for bubble teams. Same as in baseball. Winning them only matters to teams that wouldn't make it otherwise. And I say that with LSU, having more in baseball.
And losing in the Final Four, a few times, is better than not even making it.
Remember, VCU has more Final Fours than Bama. By the way, I should thank y'all for Grant, since we ended up with Smart.
Eta: Plus LSU does have a National Title in basketball. And you can't shite about the claim, if you claim 15 in football.

They only matter for bubble team huh? Why do kentucky fans buy about 80 percent of sec tournament tickets every year when they are already in the big dance? Because the tournament means something to them. Remember how devastated they were when vandy beat em in tournament final a few years back?
And no, VCU is not a better all time basketball program than bama. People that say sec tournament don't matter are just saying it because their team doesn't do good in the tournament. I look forward to watching it every year

Also, since sec tournaments don't mean as much, why do so many lsu fans come to sec tournament in Birmingham every year?

Where did I say that? I just said they had more Final Fours.
And remember the Arizona coach, that even said he didn't care about the conference tournament. They mean very very little. And I would gladly trade 5 tournament titles, for a regular seats title.
Regular season titles say who was the best team in that conference for the season. The tournament title, only says who got hot for a few days.
Yea, if LSU wins the baseball conference tournament, I'm happy, but it means very little to me. They are nothing compared to a regular season tittle, or trip to Omaha.

"The next closest teams to Kentucky according to all-time SEC regular season winning percentage are the University of Alabama at .577 (674-495 overall), the University of Arkansas at .559 (123-97 overall), and the University of Tennessee at .555 (598-480 overall)."

Do you base it on something like this?
