quote:

Morris, 38, currently Washington’s defensive backs coach, is scheduled to interview with the Falcons for a hybrid assistant-defensive coordinator position under new coach Dan Quinn, two sources told Mike Jones of the Washington Post. Another person familiar with the plans said that meeting is basically a formality.

Quinn will coach in the Super Bowl as defensive coordinator of the Seattle Seahawks before being officially named the Falcons head coach on Monday, Feb. 2 in Atlanta. He’s expected to call the defensive plays.

So no Muschamp or Smart. Durn...

That's gonna be Quinn's defense, but yeah it would have been nice to get one of those two out of the SEC.

Getting Morris and Shanahan at the coordinator positions with Quinn at HC is probably the best case scenario that could have reasonably happened for the Falcons IMO.

Agreed. A lot of people seem to think that Shanahan is the real deal so I hope he lives up to the hype.

His offenses produced despite missing three pro bowlers for most of the season. Once the front office forced Manziel into the offense, there was nothing more Shanahan could do.

It's better than having those recycled losers the NFL likes to keep around. Good hires for Atlanta IMO.

Raheem Morris is going to be the assistant HC and DB coach.
Richard Smith is going to be the DC.
