I've defended Grant in the past but I'm finally convinced that he isn't the answer. Pearl coached circles around Grant tonight but a combination of superior talent and Ross-Miller allowed him to escape with the win.

I actually feel bad for Cooper and Randolph and would like to see them get to the tournament once in their careers, but that happening means Grant entrenches himself. Not sure I can stomach that.

They went in 2012 with the JaMychal Green show, lost to McDermott and the Creighton Jays.

Again, plat on the road, 41 free throws and 4 playwrs foul out, at home it is 16 fts to 15, with a nin call in the drive by Randolph when he put bama up by 2 at 55-53, almost costung the game. Fouled twice, no call.

Reffing in CBB is a joke.

Uh, if you think for a second you didn't have some nice hometown calls you are crazy

How a player gets called 3 times for throwing elbows to the face on fouls and makes it halfway into the second half is beyond me.

You bitch about refs in every sport. Guess what the common denominator is?

The refs were terrible. Not biased terrible, just incompetent terrible. I don't think they should be allowed to officiate a middle school game, much less a college game.

They weren't great by any means, but they weren't that bad. I've definitely seen games officiated worse than that one. All that guy does is complain about officiating.

I thought AU outplayed us. We had hard time getting the ball in bounds (which should be a no brainer) and couldn't stop Bowers in the 2nd half. When one team is getting layups and you are struggling to get a shot off things are not going well for you. Auburn sucks this year and we looked worse last night. I'm not ready to bounce Grant just yet but it took a heroic effort by Randolph and crew to win that game and it shouldn't have been that hard. Grant needs to get to Sweet 16 (or damn close) or I say lets find another coach.

Not sure why so many are trying to paint Auburn as some NAIA quality team. They've beaten good Xavier and South Carolina teams, and they've played other teams really tough.

Bowers was the only post player on the floor for either team. Kessens shows flashes, but needs to bulk up some. And, KT Harrell is as good a scorer as there is in the league.

Auburn won't compete for the conference title this year, but they are capable of beating anyone in the conference. If Bama played with the same intensity as they did over the last 7 minutes of the game, they'd have won more comfortably, but that's just life with Grant, unfortunately.

Maybe you missed UKs display of basketball excellence vs. Texas A&M, Ole Miss, and Vandy.

Auburns not just gonna walk on the floor and go toe to toe with UK, but don't act like UK isn't capable of playing flat and dropping a game to a team like Auburn.

I'm going with "it's late on a Saturday night" as an excuse for so many stupid posts...."if Alabama doesn't make the Sweet-16 this year"
I see it's gone all the way into Sunday morning.

It's actually more likely that many on here have a complete lack of knowledge of collegiate basketball.

UK is a good team, but not unbeatable. Auburn is a mediocre team, but have excellent coaching and a couple of really good pieces. To suggest that Auburn isn't capable of beating UK with the right set of circumstances is asinine.

Again, Auburn won't compete for the conference title, but they are capable of beating anyone in the conference. Will it happen? Most likely not. Could it happen? 100%.

I don't think sc is very good. AU can beat most SEC teams on the right night, but we only have 2 players that should be starting in the SEC and both should be role players due to their limited skill sets.

It's not impossible for me to win the mega millions lottery. Will it happen? Probably not. Could it happen? 100%

This is what I have been saying. I've not claimed Auburn to be anything more than a mediocre team. But based off previous results and some of the talent they possess, there is no reason to think a team of Alabamas stature should be expected to wipe the floor with them. And, there is no reason to expect any team in the conference, including the invincible UK, to be able to simply beat Auburn just by walking on to the floor. Auburn is gonna make you earn it, and like you say, on the right night, can beat anyone.

If not for the struggles they've had with Ole Miss, Texas AM, and Vandy Id agree. They are the class of the league, and will struggle more with complacency than most opponents, but get inside of 2 minutes with a lead and then their youth could cost them.
