Can we infer that when you are in a relationship with another that you don't care if your partner bangs someone else since both are consenting adults?

No, but it's not my lifestyle. I wouldn't have sex with another female either, but I like gay people.

Marriage is a fundamental and constitutionally protected right and has been so affirmed as just that by the Supreme Court of the United States 14 times in its history.

I think you missed the point of my explanation. All those decisions were based on a reality where the government recognizes marriages. If it chose to stop doing so entirely, that would be another issue entirely. Once it has begun recognizing marriages (any marriages) it cannot infringe on people's right to choose their marital partners. That's what most of your cases were saying.

Just wanted to know if there were any "rules" when it came to a relationship/sex and consenting adults.

On a personal level it matters, but I dont care if you go cheat on your spouse.

Just like, on a personal level, gay marriage matters to the people gettin married. It dosnt matter to me at all.

You are trying to tie together the law of the land with personal emotional attachment to a given situation.

That's dumb. I can't put myself in that spot, as neither my SO or I are polygamists or homosexuals. I just know that consenting adults should be able to enter into any marriage contract that they want.

You don't believe the actions of each individual affects society as a whole?

How are gay people getting married affecting your life... or society as a whole?

I read a story today about two elderly women who had been together for 72 years. They were just able to get married, but two drunk fricks who just met can get married in Vegas the same night. How is that fair?

A high school friend of mine has been with his partner since freshman year of college. That was fifteen years ago. They can't get married, but people who have been together for a couple of months can? How is that fair?

So, you disagree with the laws that disallow marriage between consenting adults such as siblings, cousins, polygamy, etc?

Not trivial matters such as who has sex with who, no.

Yes. I don't care what consenting adults do in their own bedroom. I may find sexual relations between relatives repulsive, but as long as they're consenting adults, it's none of my business. There are far more important things for the government, and citizens, to concern themselves with than what goes on in the bedrooms of private citizens.

Yes, I'm consistent in my beliefs. You aren't going to trap me.

Trys to defeat an argument about banning homosexuals who cant reproduce, with an argument that cousins and siblings shouldnt reproduce due to the high rates of birth defects. Just stick with your more straight forward approach of homo hate. Its honest and cuts out the b.s.

Any idea how many crimes of passion are committed each year because of adultery and who has sex with who?

If not, then let me be the vanguard and say that I don't believe perversion should be financially rewarded.

If that stems from religious belief, I hope that you would extend that to all who do perversion/sin according to the bible/Quran/whatever your set of rules is. I imagine we'd find that it's probably pretty specific to homosexuals.

I for one, as a Christian, don't expect our secular government to enforce my moral beliefs.

And that's your business... how?

Also, why do you care about adultery? How does that relate to gay marriage if you don't want gay people to marry?

Thank you for admitting that govt restrictions on marriage are appropriate in some cases.
