imo, saban is going to coach awhile. he's a workaholic and will probably go Bowden on y'all. he has the power to stay as long as he wants. it is very possible that saban will stay longer than the fanbase wants him to. he has the power to get the president of the university canned

This could be true in the old days but just look how easy it was for tOSU to oust Sweater Vest when they knew Urban was in the bag.

Just one well timed email.

Bruce Arians

Dude is about to win NFL coach of the year. As long as the Cardinals are happy with him, he isn't going to Alabama. My guess would be Dabo. Comes across as a goober but he made two really good coordinator hires and Clemson has been rolling for the last few years.

you can't compare tressle to saban. not in the same league. and they had a reason to fire tressle; they had proof of his active roll in a cover up.

when I said saban might go Bowden on y'all I didn't mean to hint that it would happen soon as I think saban has some years left that he'll still have the fire in his belly. but, he's knocking on age 65 and has worked monstrous hours for decades. even if he started tapering off and coasting this year the program has the talent and recruiting prowess to remain at the top for several years.

It's more realistic than Bruce Arians.

who do you want Urban's replacement to be when he hangs it up?

So being less ridiculous than something else means it's ok?

Dabo is a pretty good coach and he played at Alabama. Clemson to Alabama would be an upward career move. Kinda seems like a natural fit. I don't know if there's bad blood between the two parties that would make this not happen but that's what you're making it seem like, so maybe it won't happen.

Doesn't matter who the next head coach is going to be since the next guy isn't going to have the same recruiting results and nor the same results on the field.

Just the way this stuff goes. It is very rare that a legend leaves and the next coach has the same level of success. There are a ton of examples of how this always turns out.
