Draft Express top 100 ready for NBA draft... Unreal... 9 players from UK in top 90... NEG: If they don't win the Natty... is it because too much talent and not enough balls to go around... POS: Best collection of talent on a basketball team ever... How do teams like Vandy, Aggies, etc., stay with these guys at all???

Even when it's about basketball it always comes back to the Aggies with you people. Smmfh...

Basketball lends itself to fluky games more than any other sport for a few reasons. UK could go ice cold for a game. The other team could get earth scorching hot from three point land. For instance, does anyone remember the Creighton at Villanova game last season? Creighton scored 96 points and hit an incredible 21 three pointers. If someone catches fire like that against UK, they'll beat UK. I could see someone like Wisconsin doing this in a tourney game.
As of right now, there may be two teams who could beat UK and it wouldn't be a fluke. Virginia is one, and maybe Duke.

Just look at the 2010 team…the team is full of NBA talent but went cold in the Elite 8 vs WVU…shite happens.

That squad was a Jodie Meeks away from a championship. Truly. Just didn't have anybody to shoot the trey on that squad with consistency.

4/32 from three point land. That basically proves my point for me. That WVU team was pretty good too.

Especially the college game. A lot of rules in place to keep the little guys a chance. Kentucky drubs some of these teams harder if you can't park a guy in the middle of the paint or hold on to the ball for 35 seconds.

They definitely need to speed the college game up.

Great points.

Literally had nobody who could shoot. Wall and Bledsoe still struggle as far as shooters.

quote:This year's team is different. TEN guys don't all have an off night at the same time, plus they don't have to have the 3-ball shooter to win. With their size and length inside, they own the paint...also, if it gets physical, they can foul the other team out and still have players on the court....bottom line is---everybody else is playing for 2nd place.

Again, UK doesn't have to have an off night to lose. The other team could get hot (like Creighton last year). Or they could run into UVA and just straight up lose. This chatter about UK reminds me of the talk about 2005 USC when they were being compared to some of the best college football teams of all time before the national championship game, which they lost. UK is incredible and insanely talented, but beating them isn't impossible.

Great observation Dawg. That USC team was talented but they didn't have 10% of the top 100 NFL players draft eligible that year. However, if you go back to 79 USC, they did. In fact they had 3 future NFL hall of famers on the same team... 2 Heisman award winners...

It's a crapshoot. They lost twice to us and went to the title game.
We didn't even make the show.

quote:With all respect, you guys really need to forget about what you did with Kentucky last year, and quit harping on the past. Y'all have a season in front of you that can go either way at this point....that should be your focus.
