Depends on the cough syrup. My doc usually gives me promethazine with codeine(sizzurp), and I don't take any of it. Hate the way promethazine(phenergen) makes me feel.
If it's hydrocodone or Tussionex(the best) I guzzle that shite.

My freshman year at OM, I got a bottle of cough syrup from the infirmary for a cough. Got drunk one Friday night, came home, drank about 3/4 of the bottle and went to bed watching High Plains Drifter.
Got up in an absolute daze the next day after a nightmarish evening of hallucinations that Stockard dorm was being painted red and burned down by Clint Eastwood and a midget. Looked at the bottle. It was the good stuff, and I hadn't realized it. Couldn't leave the room until Sunday afternoon.
