If Kirby wants that job, I'd be happy for him. It would likely be a flat pay or pay decrease, but it would get him to within 2 years of a HC position if he does well.
Problem with this speculation is that it assumes Quinn, a man with 21 years of coaching experience, is going to trust the Def Cor position at his first HC job in the NFL to a guy he worked with for ONE season 8 years ago. He may do it, but it would be tough for me if I were in his shoes to put that much trust in someone that I have only one season of experience with.
