Roquan Smith is the latest Chavis target for A&M. Chavis made an in home visit and now Smith will be taking an OV to A&M.

I assume UGA is a heavy favorite. Any dogs want to share some info on him?

Bitch, please...Chavis don't recruit. I expect Steele to bring Roquan in for a visit, though...assuming Steele is interested.

I expect him to sign with UGA, but Michigan is a threat.

He is an outstanding talent. Played in a lower class down in South Ga. All projections I see have him as an ILB.

Thread has nothing to do with LSU yet they flock to it. They're playing the role of jealous crazy ex GF to a T.

So, what role were you playing when you posted in the Donte Jackson thread?

He's been on the road or hosting since day one. I'm not sure what LSU was talking about. Guess he jsut needed the right motivation to get working hard on the recruiting trail.

Lack of necessary talent can be a hell of a jump start.

The Chavis doesn't recruit thing is completely overblown on both sides.
LSU fans say he doesn't recruit at all when he clearly did. He was very influential in the Sam Montgomery recruitment and during January he was always on the road.
TAM fans see him on the road daily and think he's a recruitaholoc.

The basic fact is that both have some truth. Chavis does recruit. He primarily recruits on campus most of the year but in January he will be on the road because he has too. January is a dead time for coaches on anything but recruiting. He has to recruit in January because of the in homes. The he doesn't recruit part comes from the fact that in the other 11 months of the year he isn't an active recruiter. He watches film and evals kids at camp during the year but will not be active on the road even in the spring eval season. He's not a guy that makes phone calls to kids during the year and he's not gonna be the primary recruiter for kids. Basically he does what a CEO DC does. He evals, gives the OK to offer, let's others do the navy lifting during the year and lays out a plan when kids come on visits. Then in January when its in home time he goes on the road.

The reality is, he's not gonna be the catalyst for getting a kid. He is a support recruiter not a lead recruiter. If you check all those photos of him recruiting at TAM what is the constant? Other xoaches , usually multiple coaches, on the visit with him. He's not a great recruiter and doesn't like to recruit. He's there because its required and as support. He's not gonna be the reason a kid goes to TAM but he will help.

Can we please let this shite die now? Both sides have truth to their argument.
