Well, 6 of the 7 teams are from the 7 lowest ranking states by income in the U.S. It's not very surprising.

Gumps aren't actually anywhere close to 1 billion (that chart is way off). They are much closer to only 1/2 billion

No, I'm pretty sure it's around 1 billion. Was actually closer to 1.2 a few years ago. These things do fluctuate.
Now the Tuscaloosa campus alone is around 670 million. But considering several "systems" are listed, don't single Alabama out.
