Full size - 120 yards. Right next to the grass fields with retractible walls so that they can practice on all 3 fields at the same time.

It's crazy to me that UF is just getting an indoor facility.

Better late than never I suppose. Still - looks like it's going to be a nice facility. Good timing too with all the negative recruiting muschamp has been spewing since he went to Auburn.

I don't think anyone ever really considered weather to big of a problem here, even though we've had plenty of practices effected. The Florida schools and NFL teams are just getting around to building these things.

30 practices were affected last year by bad weather. It's an issue for Florida football that won't be an issue anymore.

And I'm sure it can't hurt with recruiting either.

I guess they felt the players could suck it up and practice in the rain and heat/humidity. Outside of hurricanes, that's all UF has to deal with.

Though, with all the health precautions that are being taken now I bet it was the heat that ultimately got the facility built.

Lightning is the big problem, especially in Florida. Can't practice at UF if lightning is within 8 miles.

Yeah, I didn't think about the thunderstorms.

Don't have to worry about them once it's completed though.

I honestly thought the school was just not gonna build one ever. Glad they decided to change their minds

A lot of construction will be going on in that part of campus. The $50 million O'Dome renovation begins in March. A lot of talk that renovated locker rooms and players lounges we will be announced soon as well.

They practice in the rain it's the lightning that halts practice and unfortunately Central Florida is the lightning capital of the US.

We had a kid named Eraste Autin, a freshman fullback back in 2000 or 2001 that died froma heat stroke. I am surprised the damn thing wasnt built then.
