There is hope!

Today marks 567 days since I had a pinch of Copenhagen.

I started when I was 16. I used to have a pinch in during football games, high school and college. That's pretty sad.

I decided to quit after having my daughter. The struggle is real, but hopefully I can make it another 567 days.

What about you guys? Any smokers or other Copenhagen addicts here?

Dipped since 7th grade. Smoked through college and after. Quit smoking and took up dipping again.

I still dip on occasion but don't seem to have an issue quitting. I usually dip in the summer when I'm doing a lot of yard work and outdoors a lot. Quit during the school year when I'm in the office more.

Booze is my problem, but I'm currently cutting back on that and not drinking during the week and less on weekends. Was usually having 2-3 whiskey drinks a night during the week and substantially more on weekends.

I smoked 2.5 packs a day for 10 years. Multiple attempts to quit. I finally decided it was really time when I noticed I would get winded walking to the bathroom to take a piss. Been more than 10 years since I had a drag on a cigarette.

I smoked nearly 2 packs a day in college and grad school.

After I graduated grad school, I realized I couldn't use the excuse "meh I'll quit when I graduate" and quit cold turkey.

I used to drink a lot of Laphroig, but it's too pricey. I buy EW 1783 by the half gallon, now. I've begun to prefer bourbon to scotch as I've gotten older. Weird.

I prefer scotch, but I drink more bourbon just because of the price point. I'd rather spend my money on a $20-30 bourbon (Weller 12/107, Eagle Rare, Four Roses, etc) that I enjoy than drop $65-70 on my favorite scotches (Macallan 12/CS, Balvenie 14, etc).

dipping is my downfall. Said I was gonna quit when my daughter was born.... she's almost 5 and I still haven't ......
Have baby #2 on the way... I figure it's probably time to try and quit again.

I quit this last time because my 6 year old son kept harassing me about it and asking me questions about it.

that kinda hurt.....

Cut back on the liquid courage over the last few months. I used to have a drink or two every night. Now down to two or three times a week.

Though perhaps I shouldn't come to think of it. My Great-grandmother and grand aunt both drank every night (great-gran used to drink in the mornings too) and they both lived to be 100. It may have a preserving effect in my family.

Quit dipping Jan 1 or at least I am attempting to. I have bought one can all month so far, which is much better than the 2 cans a day I would sometime go through.

The hardest part is like you I had one in during any sporting event, and after eating any meal. Try watching the crap that is Arkansas Basketball the past week and not want a dip.

We shall overcome

First of all congrats Hawgeye!

I quit dipping Jan 7, 2014. I had dipped for 12 years and one morning before a duck hunt I realized I was out of chew. I drove an extra 15 minutes to find a truck stop to get a couple cans. That was my "it controls my life to much moment"

Now I need to cut back on bourbon and beer.

Having issues with motivation to quit smoking...I've stopped for different amounts of time over the last 4 years...I had it licked for a while till a close death in the family made it come-a-calling..

I drink quite a bit of Turkey 101 and just drink more than normal being in the restaurant business

I quit smoking weed many years ago when I was in college. The hardest part was that I really liked it. I guess it's a good thing that my grades didn't like it because I had to make a choice. And I chose to let my grades win out.
