He's y'alls...we gave him our best shot but the home school won out. No drama today, his announcement is just a formality... Great player, great kid, congrats...

Seems to be all about playing at home; can't fault him for that. He handled the recruitment with class, I wish him the best (unless LSU happens to be playing UGA ).

It never feels good when you are worried about a kid that you felt like was yours for along time because we see it occasionally that for whatever reason that small percentage go against the grain.
Last year, I was pretty worried about LSU and Lorenzo Carter. Anytime you get an official there is some doubt created.

UGA just called up two more DBs today to set up OVs. That and the fact that as of yesterday afternoon Donte had made up his mind for LSU tells me that the in-home was a valiant effort but there was nothing we could do. Came down to the fact that while Donte loves UGA, Richt, and Pruitt, he wants his mom to be able to see him play and to go to school with Tyron Johnson. I think if he lived in Alabama or Mississippi, we probably would have gotten him. But it is what it is. Hard to go 2 for 2 on LA recruits in one class.

We got an in home this morning. In fact I'm pretty sure it's still going on. The fact that the Georgia insiders are conceding him to LSU tells me Donte informed the UGA coaches that he was committing to LSU.

This. Sometimes the insiders are dead on and sometimes they're fed a line of crap. Would not surprise me one bit if he put on a UGA hat.
