Don't the Dodger's pay for Melvin Ray?

-Snapper Ike Powell is going on scholly per BMatt and Mark Murphy so you might as well add him top.

-Melvin Ray is not on a football scholly. The Dodgers are paying his way per his baseball contract therefore he does not count to the 85 limit.

-JaBrian Niles is off the team due to Back injuries

-The new staff has penciled Atkinson at ILB not with the DBs.

Harding was a LB at last report

-The number should be 82, swapping Ray for Powell and dropping Niles

-attrition will occur between now and August so you don't sign based on what's on the books now. You sign based on knowing attrition will occur.

-With Shannon grayshirting we have 19 in the class and per all 3 sites we can sign a max of 28 (looks like the staff is shooting for 27-28) which leaves 9 spots left in this class. Being at 82 we have 3 open spots to fill and need 6 more attritions if we are to enroll the max. Denson and Harrell will be gone so that leaves 4 attrition left to get at 85. That's usually easy to do between now and June or August as there are usually 8-10 attritions per year.

Lastly if you do this in future years CPA could you seperate it by class instead of position? That would have made it much easier to cross reference as other AU sites do it by class and there is usually less varied opinions on class than position. TIA.

So what's going to happen with Denson? Transfer? Was he still injured from 2013?

First I heard of this. I thought he could have been a role player when he was signed. Never heard from him outside of ADay.

I also thought about Denson possibly hanging it up. Didn't catch a pass this year after the knee injury last year. I figured with him being a SR, they might let him finish out his career but I wasn't sure how good his recover has gone. Should have known when he didn't make the trip down to Tampa. Another player that I had high hopes for that didn't live up to much (4 catches for 57 yards in his career).

He's a RSR. So he'd have to go to JUCO or lower division to play his final year.

Assuming he doesn't graduate this spring, or hasn't graduated already.

True. I just don't see a guy with 4 total catches in his career and coming off a major knee injury that obviously effected his JR year making it on a D1 team.

False. He received a medical waiver for his JR year indicating that he is still eligible for a redshirt year with NCAA approval of a 6th year of eligibility. Example of this is Kase Keenum

Also, if he graduated from Auburn, he also would be eligible to play next year as a graduate transfer.

Pretty sure we always have a snapper. I know one longsnapper said that LS are recruited to AU with the idea that they can compete for the LS starting position/scholarship that comes with it when the starter gradutes

I would be shocked if Niles, Harrell were on Scholly.

22. Ray
Def not on scholly

Denson may end up not being on that list if we need numbers.

There is always talk about Jordan Diamond's health

I wish wasn't on the roster.

Also, according to some legit UGA insiders, Montravius Adams is at risk of transferring any day now. He hates in Auburn and told Trent Thompson this.

Those aren't close to the same situations. Case redshirted his FR year then got injured in his RSSR season and was able to get a medical RS.

Tez Doolittle for Auburn was able to have a 6th year as well, the same way as Keenum. He RS his FR year then missed the 07 season (his RSSR season) with a ruptured achilles and was granted a medical RS able to play the 08 season.

Usually those 6th year eligibility comes from when a player already used up their RS and is able to gain a medical after. I honestly can't think of any time where the regular RS was applied for and granted after the medical was already used.

Yes, I forgot that.

You are eligible , not guaranteed a 6th year of eligibility with NCAA approval when granted a medical RS. That is not really up for debate. It is not guaranteed and needs special approval form NCAA committee so it is a longshot. Since Denson was reportedly not 100% even in 2014 though, he could make an argument.

Additionally, this legislation giving 6 years to transfers was being considered for the fall and I have no idea about where in the process they are for it LINK

We have 81 on scholly now. For all intents we just need 3 more attitions to enroll the max of 28 in this class.

Literally zero chance that happens. Kid would have to be absolutely stupid to transfer. He'll probably leave after this next season anyway.
