Sweeps are good. Can't say enough at how important Pfeifer has been. Very lucky to have him back.

And Wiseman gets recognition for an amazing week, even though his streak ran into the wall that was Trey Killian.
And some interesting stats:
1. Sheffield now has the best opposing BA in the SEC among qualifying pitchers at .101.
2. As a team, Vandy pitchers are 2nd in the SEC for opp. BA at .191 (Missouri is #1). We probably rank 8th in ERA because we are 14th in the SEC in walks allowed at 113 so far. Arkansas is 13 with 87. We also have 19 wild pitches.
quote:
Player of the Week: Rhett Wiseman, Vanderbilt
• Continued his torrid start to the season with 10 hits during the Commodores' 5-0 week.
• Opened the week with back-to-back two-hit games vs. Quinnipiac, smashing his third home run of the season in Tuesday's win and matching his career-best with three runs in Wednesday's win.
• Finished a double shy of the cycle on Saturday in his team's SEC-opening win against Arkansas, belting a two-run home run in the first inning and ending the game with a walk-off triple in the 12th inning.
• Followed up with three more hits and two RBI to help Vanderbilt finish its doubleheader sweep of Arkansas on Saturday, extending his hitting streak to 13 games with his fifth consecutive multi-hit game.

Wiseman is off to a ridiculous start to the season. Arkansas had no answer for him so they just started hitting him intentionally.

Very worrisome. Hope he's alright. A healthy Stone would anchor the back end of a ridiculously-talented pitching staff.

Both Fulmer and Buehler looked a little unbalanced so far this series. Let's hope Sheff is confident for his first big road test.

Apparently the flu has ripped through the team this weekend. The TV guy just said that only 12 players made it to warmups Thursday night. I wonder if our 2 starters were affected at all. Shef spotted a 5-0 lead here in the second inning. Let's see if he can eat some innings here.

Yeah, the commentators just said that Fulmer was sick but wanted to pitch through it. Did pretty well considering.

Crazy win! Bowden gets blooped to death in the 9th and then fools no one in the 10th but gets them 1-2-3. Nice series win on the road. National champs getting everyone's best shot.

Not many things better than a 9-0 blowout over ut to start the series. That was fun. Carson looked great and it says something when you can win 9-0 with Wisemann and Swanson going 0-10. Get them again today. No mercy.

Watched a replay late last night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Marks was a completely different pitcher from the stretch. I couldn't believe how many times he threw over with Ellison on 1st. And their defense was horrendous...

Holy crap that sucked. They still blow, but we kept giving them runs. We took a lot of 3rd strikes too. Too damn cold to watch us play bad ball

Glad I missed the last few innings...

That ump was giving way too much outside plate to Serrano. It was ridiculous.

Also, I'm watching the game with UT friends tomorrow. We must crush them.

Definitely 2 different strike zones yesterday. Way too passive at the plate. Ut played with desperation. Let's face it, the way they're going this year, this is their world series. Need to close it out today.

When the ESPN guys even comment on it, you know it's bad.
ETA: I think that was the first game we got outhit.

We're not getting outhit today...

They were mad today and took it out on the poor vols. Absolute dismantling.

Started watching at the top of the 3rd. It was beautiful
It was a good weekend. During the whole series, we always looked the more dominant team. And we should be #1 in a couple polls with LSU dropping its series.
