Where do people buy higher end grills, and what do y'all recommend?

You want a Weber, there is no substitute.
40 burgers and the one in the far left corner cooks exactly the same as the one in the near right corner.

Go ahead and buy you a digital smoker while you're out.

What? They're rated by the BBB and everything!

Big Green Egg is the only answer.

Original Weber. Black. Wal-Mart, Lowes, Home Depot, etc.
Seriously-everyone should have one of these for their first grill.

Problem is those things cost a fortune. And I dont do more than cook some burgers most of the time. If I were into making barbecue an all day extravaganza, where the cooking was the event, then yes, absolutely.

There are many other ceramic smoker / grills out there that are just as good as the green egg if not better (Kamado).

BGE is not a good recommendation for someone's first grill.
Get a Weber. The original charcoal version is only around $100 and the skills you learn on it will be valuable.

I don't buy off on the "first one" mentality with motorcycles, guitars, grills etc.. There's nothing wrong with buying a badass grill and maintaining it. They'll last forever anyways.

A good weber is not a starter grill. Get you a Summit and use it the rest of your life. Genesis is a great grill too but get the 4 burner model.
If you go gas 45,000btus or more is a must if you want to do good steaks

I started with a black charcoal Weber. I still have it. I still use it. I still cook some of the best steaks on it.
Anyone can fire up a gas grill. Black Webers teach life skills. This is fact.

My dad taught me the skill of burning EVERYTHING on charcoal.
That's why I do gas now I guess
But I don't think gas grills were around when I was a kid

Big Green Egg is for men who can't grill and need to spend a grand so they can say they spent a grand on a damn grill.
