On a scale from 1-10, how much do you hate Michael Moore?

Someone's a little bitter American Sniper is doing well in the box office.

He annoys me more than Jane Fonda but less than CatFan.

Don't give him enough thought to really vote... Dude was a troll before trolling was cool

Is this the one that makes movies? Because I've never watched a single one of his movies.....

I really, really, really, hope someone kicks that fat fricks arse over the comments about Chris Kyle.
Yet another example of the liberal mentality. Its not a good thing.

I guess about a 1. I liked a couple of his movies(Bowling For Columbine and Capitalism), but realize he can be rather sanctimonious at times.
I don't really have a problem with this quote. I saw American Sniper this weekend and didn't leave with the feeling Kyle was a hero, or at least no more a hero than any other person that has served and been sent into a dumb war.

I saw it too, and while he may not be your typical "hero", he's certainly not a fricking coward. It doesn't matter if you think it's a dumb war or not. Every one of those guys that go over there are "heros" in a way, just because of the fact they are defending our country.
Say what you want about the politics about the war, but it doesn't diminish what each individual guy or girl is doing. They put their lives on the line.
So yeah, I do have a problem with his quote.

Yes. These men and women aren't signing up because they agree with our wars. They sign up to defend our country.
It is perfectly reasonable to debate whether or not it is our place to be there etc. etc., but that's on the politicians. You can belittle the people that decided to send our troops over there but not the troops themselves. They put their lives on the line for us.

So if those are called to active duty, they can just say "hey I'm only in this for the student loan payoff, I'm not doing that"?
Sounds like a pretty sweet deal.

No, you don't understand. The only way a Soldier can be noble is if he's dead or working for free.

quote:No, they already signed their freedom away, I'm just giving the reason they did it. Had nothing to do with "defending the country."

I don't think he's a coward either, but I do agree with Moore that the use of snipers can be cowardly. But it's war, and it's part of the game. I don't fault Kyle for it, but Moore having a relative killed by a sniper certainly clouds his judgment.
I don't diminish what soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan did, nor do I think Moore did with his comment. They were just doing what they were told to do. I've seen some people though put Kyle up on some pedestal. Not sure why, because I didn't get the impression the movie did that either. But whatever, people have different interpretations of movies all the time.

Can't speak to anyone else's motivation, but I joined to defend my country and pay off student loans. The two aren't mutually exclusive.
