I hate where Football is headed

Just my opinion but I don't enjoy watching the offensive showdowns. Defense should be just as important as offense but right now its basically negated. Before you know it, Basketball scores will be the norm and the game will be ruined beyond repair. It'll be a finesse match to see which team is faster and luckier.
There needs to be rules added or changed to help the defense. Right now they can't even hit people half the time without a flag being thrown.

Get ready for downvotes, but I actually agree. Not to mention that with so much passing, there are so many chances for roughing, unnecessary roughness, targeting, and pass interference. It's a shite show.

Of course you do. You're an Aggie. There needs to be a good middle ground. Blowouts happen but you can see where football is headed now.

We agree, sure, but he's beating a dead horse. this has been discusses ad nauseam on the board. nothing he posted is exactly enlightening or ground breaking

Offense is just as much a part of the game as defense. Offenses have evolved to score more points. Maybe defenses should evolve and stop them or else they'll be left behind.

Exactly. If you have a good enough defense, you can shut down these high powered offenses. It's not like the offense is playing with any type of advantage over the defense

It's kind of like the "Everyone gets a trophy" mindset.
"It's too hard for the defense to stop the HUNH. So instead of encouraging them to find ways to stop it, lets make a rule hindering the offense for finding creative ways to score."

This is what needs to change. If the defense brings the hammer on an offensive player, it is automatically called targeting and ejection. This part of the game absolutely needs to be changed
