Anyone have a recommendation on the best wineries/vineyards to visit in the area between Dahlonega/Blairsville? Going to be up there for a long weekend and have never done the winery thing.
It'll be this weekend so I know the focus will be on the indoor tours/tastings etc with it being winter. But anywhere scenic that you enjoyed I'd like to consider.

My wife and I took a tour and wine sampling trip to Boutier Wineries in North Georgia. Was pretty good wine. We bought several bottles. These guys are in the country. In Danielsville, which is sort of on the way to Athens from Atlanta.
The owners are South African and very nice.

It's gonna be in the 50's and sunny this weekend. Not exactly winter weather.
Never been to any of the wineries up there, but I'm following this thread. I'd like to take a weekend trip up there sometime with the boyfriend.

Boutier Wineries is an easy day trip from Atlanta. probably 90 minutes there.

Right... I only meant that there aren't going to be ripe grapes on the vines

The ones I've enjoyed the most are near Dahlonega. I'm no wine expert, but my wife (who knows a decent amount) seems to think they are fairly impressive.
Three Sisters and Wolf Mountain were probably my favorites (I'm considering the setting, service and actual wine at each place). Cavender Creek and Montaluce were also good. Each of these is fairly near Dahlonega which is a great little mountain town in its own right.
It'll be a fun weekend, you'll enjoy.
