Never had one, but my cousin got a comminuted fracture (busted into a bunch of pieces) of his kneecap playing football in high school. He said it was the worst pain he could imagine.
Then a few years later he got a kidney stone.
He says he'd take another kneecap every single time.

Just had one removed in Dec...stuck some tool up my pee hole to get it...it was so awful...
They didn't tell me how bad pee-ing would hurt after...it was the worse pain ever...I felt like I was pissing broken glass...I had to get geared up to pee for two days it hurt so bad...
Overall couldn't get much worse of a experience

To actually answer the OP...I would guess prison rape would be worse but I never want to find out

A dry socket would be awful, but I'm not sure that even makes the cut. I've broke bones and I'd choose that every time over another kidney stone.
They do a urine test when you go into the ER with one. We'll it's hard to pee as you can imagine, and I wasn't sure I could get the job done. So the nurse made me an offer I couldn't refuse....it was either make urine happen or get a catheter. So I peed.

Getting hit in the nads is currently high on my list. Dry socket sucked but the nads are sensitive fellows

they don't send a long probe down your dick to treat dry socket... i've had both and the stones didn't hurt (thank God), but if you've ever had your flow of urine cutoff from pissing a large blood clot 
it gave me a new appreciation for the term crimson tide

Imagine pissing a shard of jagged calcium that's about the size of your urethra.
That's not even the bad part. It's the pressure buildup and cutting of the tract from your kidney to bladder.

When the dr was describing what he was going to do, I just cut him off and said I didn't want to hear...part of the horror is thinking about it too much...
My wife was amused at how I was keeping track of every time I had to pee...it felt like I was getting psyched up for a fight...

my favorite part of the kidney stone was from my post mri dr visit until the procedure... they gave me this ridiculous collapsable strainer cup to pee in. worked fine until we had a bloody one. what a disgusting mess to have lol. on a side note i was quite nervous going in to my first visit, i started walking down the hallway to the room, the dr's walls were covered in bama football memorabilia. it almost put me at ease... almost

Nothing in my life compares to the night I rolled over and first felt that kidney stone. It was like I was shot in my right side. That pain was so severe I went into shock

Everybody I know that has had one says it is by far the worst thing of all time.
