Has to be Marty Shott's lil boy over at UGA. All it got was yawns. At least K Steal at LSU got a little derisive laughter

Tell me: did you even realize Mizzou or Mississippi State hired a defensive coordinator this offseason?

Those are the "most boring" hires.

I don't pay attention to the schools that start with an M in the SEC. Only the traditional powers. (obviously I overlooked them - so yep, you're right)

Muschamp

If by boring you mean hiring the most talented person for the open position.

Not really Mizzou got a splash and MSU got a joke. Either are not boring.

And yet: nobody devoted more than maybe 1 announcement thread to the hires. I honestly couldn't tell you off the top of my head who either of those schools hired.

Odom is one hell of a coach from what I've seen. You'll know his name soon, whether you care or not.

Mizzou got Odom and MSU hired Diaz back right?

I agree with you, Odom looks to be an up and comer. I will be looking forward to watching him.

Big 6 bias.

Any StL Mizzou fan is well aware of what a non-visionary offensive hire Schottenheimer is.

We've seen a lot of bad offense since Mike Martz left, but Schottenheimer stands out as a true milk toaster.

The Arky OC search is boring me to death. No leaks, the speculation is worthless, and no rumors are floating around. It could be 2 more weeks before this thing is over and it's going to be the longest 2 weeks of my life as I constantly refresh message boards to no new news.

Its never good to look at a previous stint and fully judge a person. Lots of people have struggled in the NFL and done great in college. I have my issues with the hire because I personally think UGA should open up the book a bit more and get into the idea of using a dual threat QB but with shotty you will see a playaction attack that focuses on running the rock. It just so happens that he has 2 of the most talented young running backs in the nation at his disposal so all is not bleak. John Lilly didn't mess that formula up and all he did was manage the bowl game.

Arky looking for an OC? Guess you won the prize -- so boring nobody even knows you don't have one.

I guess you weren't blessed to see the handful of pitiful troll attempts the day Jim Chaney left.

Nothing Mizzou does is "sexy".

However, we hired maybe the best young DC in the game. Y'all hired a reject from the Rams. The guy is seriously garbage.

Just by seeing an AU fan started this thread was there ever any doubt it would be our hire?

Oh, so you thought he did good work with the Jets?

Schottenheimer's offense may be able to out-athlete their opponents on the collegiate level, but I wouldn't count on him turning young skill position players into game breaking studs any time soon.

I've just seen too many young players like Tavon Austin go grossly under-and-ill utilized.
